After posting that chibi the other day, I wanted to try and use that hair painting style on a non-chibi pic, so here's Kanaka as my experimental subject!

Status // Pro Hero + partnered with Avalanche Maiden [ Kotori Touyou ]
Quirk: Kintsugi // when wounded, her body emits a golden fluid which rapidly hardens into a substance stronger than steel, sealing her wounds

Kanaka is a Pro Hero originally from Toyama Prefecture, now working in Musutafu alongside her partner, Avalanche Maiden. She grew up in a very active family ━ her parents and older brother, all of whom had rather weak, minor Quirks, had found their purposes in sports, and Kanaka initially expected to follow in their footsteps despite her much stronger Quirk. She went to a highly-ranked high school and then university on sports scholarships, but halfway through her degree she realised that she was really just going through the motions of what everyone else expected of her. She finished her degree, because she was loathe to waste all that money, but afterward bounced around a few temporary retail jobs before training as a police officer. She was a very good officer, particularly in tune with the community assistance aspect of policing, and three years into her career was asked if she (and a few other officers with stronger Quirks) would like to get their provisional Hero licenses and become liaison officers working closely with the regional Hero Agencies. She is currently working as a local liaison with the Musutafu Police department, and when not fulfilling her liaison duties works as a rescue Hero with her partner, Avalanche Maiden.

Ordinarily she is a very warm, kind, helpful person ━ kind of the Mom Friend, really. She loves physical activity and crafts, and is that rare person who actually enjoys housework; the apartment she and Kotori share is always neat and tidy. She gardens as a hobby; their balcony is full of pots and a couple of deep tubs, in which she grows vegetables which she then uses in delicious home cooking. She can make friends with just about anybody; a striking contrast to her girlfriend, who is famously something of a (sometimes literal) ice queen.
