You know, having the Beast a fanged deer creature makes him ironically more elegant-looking than beastly. It really helps making this scene here more heart-warming just by looking at it.

Excellent. I like to see different animals used for the "beast"design. I find this one a pretty fascinating one in fact. It reflects the gentle yet at the same time can be perceived intimidating, much like the animals used for inspiration. Great touching art

Reminds me of the Mercer Mayer Beauty and the Beast- and that is a high compliment, for that book is glorious.
I love the idea of the beast as a deer, you often see him as a lionesque creature.

oh wow, thanks! the work that is up for this series was actually all that my thesis consisted of (since i only worked on it for a semester rather than a full year), but its possible that i would do more illustrations from this story. i had a lot in mind when i began the project and simply didn't have the time to do them all.

I love these pictures and simply cannot believe the nobody has commented on them. Beautiful work, lovely remaining of the characters. It's hard to see beyond the immensely popular Disney version and you've done it spectacularly.
