This is a great design. Sort of a fusion between Caddy LMP, Audi, Chrysler and Ferrari 333 judging by all the elements mixed together. I'm sure a prospective team whose looking to build would love to see this design. It essentially can fit a V8, 10, or 12, maybe even a hybrid diesel powerplant. It'd work perfectly for American Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup racing, especially for Daytona, Sebring, and Le Mans being lined up in the Prototype div. II/LMP 2 category. One of the most inspiring LMP designs I've seen in a while.

Cool render, it really reminds me of the Chrysler LMP from a few years ago, though this one would probably be in LMP 2.

Gorgeous rendering! Your design reminds me in various areas of the second Cadillac LMP, the Reynard that ORECA ran for a year, and the 333SP.

Thanks man! yeah even without looking at other LMP's while doing one they tend to get veeery similar
It's like doing an F1 car, you can't really go that crazy with em...

I wasn't meaning it was derivative, just that having familiar design elements makes it more credible as a plausible design!

kazirules In reply to NSVN64G [2006-11-08 19:19:32 +0000 UTC]

Hey thanks man!

The lighting is REALLY simple acctually, i did this:

Step 1: make a Rectangular light as big as the car itself and put it maybe 1m above the tallest point of the car
Step 2: make another Rectangular light a little smaller then the first one and put it above and in front of whatever angle you're gonna render it in. For example if you render it front view then put the light in front of the car, right view on the right side of the car. Make this light a little lower then the first one to.
Step 3: go into Light Properties and set this on both lights:
Light intensity: 20
Use Soft shadows
Source radius: 50 if it says 25.4 and 5 if it says 2.54 (depends on cm and mm grid)
Samples: 20
Jitter: 20

Render that baby!

Wow, thanks for the awesome tip! I haven't really experimented with rectangular lighting, but now I will. Thanks again.

now..........this is a Circut racing car? i say that because of the center cab, lack of suspension.....and no bumpers....clearly not streetlegal.................
but an awesome concept none-theless

kazirules In reply to jedimario [2006-11-08 19:09:39 +0000 UTC]

Not more then i've got in my head, i just got all kind of influences from different LMP cars, from the panoz to the courage.

is always nice to see someone revealing the possibilities of programs that are not often used, or known...
congrats on the feature.
well delivered on this one.

Thanks man!

i use Rhino pretty much bcz it's the only program i understand
But I'm gonna start using Maya soon bcz i've just got a educational license on it from my school.
But i've got used to Rhino now so most prolly i'll end up using it instead.

hehe..i know what you mean..i only got Bryce as 3D program...i once tried 3D Studio Max and Cinema 4D, and tho they have way more features, they are kinda complex comparing to Bryce..so i keep using Bryce, coz it's cheaper too.... i even tried Blender, which is a free 3D program, but didn't liked it that much.
Well, good luck to you in your Maya learning...i've heard Maya it's the best program around.

I like it a lot more than all the current protos... maybe its the lack of stickers all over it(lol) or the fact that is has sexier line... maybe both. But I love it!

Really nice modelling, but it's aerodynamics are quite horrible, and there seems to be a 3 cylinder wankel engine in there instead of a v10/12
