Description I have reposted the image of this painting after reading a comment on colour. Indeed it was not the best likeness of the painting. The original is better represented here and looks in life to be of pinks and grey with splashes of other colours. I am posting the other image, with lighting issues in my scraps in case anyone liked that lighting better.

Alas, "I be who I be" said a wise cat. And I relate.
This is me, even the flowers. I hope you like it.

Full View please!

Original watercolour with hand blended pulverized 24kt gold on 150lb coldpress paper. Measures 11 x 15 in.

yes, they seek that orb do they not....all of them...even the one growing from the sky itself. It says something about us. We can be different, but we all want the same things when you really think about it...to feel warm...the source unnamed

Yes, I could agree to that... All is connected with each other...

There is great sadness in this painting. You are very intuitive and sensitive to have felt it ...I believe sometimes the human conscious is connected, and that the human condition is what happens to us all.

i like this one a lot. i like the daisies because they are irregular.

Thank you for your comment. I like the flowers as well, and too, because they are irregular. Something nice in things that are pretty in an awkward way.

Thanks for taking time to look at my work.

That is just beutiful. I fell like flowers were stragling the landscape with vine-like stalks.
The sky itself looks melancholic and very lifelike, fells like late autumn, or early spring, if you know
what i mean. definately excelent painting. I love it

Thank you so much for this comment. I apologize that it has not be responded to in the timely manner it deserved. Sometimes I feel like pretty flowers are strangling the landscape. Beauty can be daunting, and yet we are drawn to it like a warm fire in the middle of a winters night.

yes, I create all the texture on the paper first, the backgrounds are my favourite...and then I paint the foreground. I like the dimension all the texture adds to the overall composition...and I never get bored when I look back at what I have worked on. There is always some little detail waiting to be noticed.

i love this...the colors are beautiful and the flowers are simple, without being overdone, but more than enough to attract the eye. sell prints!

kaiorton In reply to saiaii [2006-02-05 21:06:01 +0000 UTC]

I reposted the image for this painting. It is a better likeness to the original during daylight. I submitted it for prints and hopefully it will be approved soon. Let me know what you think.

I may also submit a deviation for the evening lighted one, because I like it as well and the pink shows though better in dim lighting.

I am so glad you are back and even more pleased you like this one. I am working on the prints thing. My 4 MP camera does not take pics at a high enough resolution and so I am taking some of my painting to a place to try scanning them. We shall see what happens. I am not confident that the metals will cooperate on teh process.

If it works, you will be the first to know.

I don't really understand how you do it - the technique you use at watercolors - but the result is always stunning : the colors are wonderful, and the atmosphere that's coming from the piece is enticing.

I love how the flowers look almost tortured, like they're some kind of survivors, growing whatever...

A question, not so connected, but still... The signature, is it in inuit? Anyway, it looks beautiful !

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kaiorton In reply to benayoun [2006-01-28 23:30:02 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Berenice...the style/technique is one that I kind of invented by accident/on purpose.

The flowers are indeed worn and tired, but persevering.

The signature is my native language on Inupuit of the Inuit people. Good eye you have.

I want to be in it!
Your atmosphere is so shockingly amazing.
And the composition itself is great. My eyes dances around the flower but get drawn to the sun.

ahhh...a suny world with flowers, decrepid though they might be does seem more magical at times than the one we live in, eh?
Thanks for your well worded comment. It is very appreciated. I am so glad you like it.

Brilliant! Capturing a good likeness of an image is always hard, but you honestly
did a great job this time. And considering half of my gallery needs to be redone and reposted, I'm jealous.

Dave (Dragonwingsart) and I were wondering if your work is in gallerys? Are you selling? cause you could, you are amazing.

I have not done a gallery show in a year, although I did a number before that. It was exhausting, and I got a run around from some of the gallery owners for payment. In the end, I would love to do more shows, but I don't have the money right now to invest in framing and such...grad school makes you poor!
I mostly do commissions for now.

You two are the sweetest and always so encouraging! I really appreciate it. Thanks for being such great friends.

"Why must you always speak in riddles?"

Hee. I have succeeded in creating a fan methinks ^_~.

Beautiful painting. I don't think that I've seen this one before. And actually, I feel quite priviledged being able to see these in person XDDD.

I'm drawn especially to the sun/moon in this one for some reason, even though the flowers are the more obvious focal area. It has a warming presence.

Believe it or not, it is still lovelier in person. I am fighting with my camera and lighting. The original is more of a soft muted pink and green grey. I am glad you like it.

Yes, I like this lighting much more Here is much more brightness, what fits to the flowers and makes it look like spring.
The sun reminds a bit of an orange, but I love how the flowers try to reach it and the whole minimalistic look.
Well done!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kaiorton In reply to allsoulsnight [2006-01-27 05:29:41 +0000 UTC]

hehe....yeah the sun in the original is a faint yellow grey...I could not correct the orange with the lighting I had. I will try again in daylight to take a picture and perhaps post another image.

Thanks for your kind comments my friend.
