Seatopia, a majestic underground kingdom. For years, it's people, the Seatopians, had been in peace knowing they would always be protected by their god. Around 1973 though, their peace was shattered. Nuclear testing had been going about on the surface world, unknowingly from above, greatly damaged the utopia. The only way to stop these "attacks", was to send their god to destroy them, Megalon.

Meanwhile, Goro Ibuki had finally finished his greatest work, Jet Jaguar. Seatopian spies saw the machine marvle as a way of helping thier own cause. Two of the spies captured Goros little brother, Rokuro, and his best friend, Hiroshi. Goro was soon blackmailed into realeving control of Jet Jaguar over to Seatopia.

Megalon finally awoke from his slumber and brought himself topside. Controling JJ, the Seatopians use Jet Jaguar to direct Megalon straight to Tokyo to begin the Seatopians revenge.

Rokuro and Hiroshi soon free themselves and head back to Goro's lab and soon beat down the Seatopian agents. Getting control back of Jet Jaguar, Goro decides to re-direct Megalon, long to come up with a new plan. JJ returns to the lab and Goro begins to speak about his idea: send Jet Jaguar out to Monster Island to fetch Godzilla to fight Megalon. Crazy as it was, it would have to do. But before giving the order JJ, the robot flew off on his way already aware of what to do. Goro realized that JJ had activated his self awarness mode.

JJ soon got to Monster Island and located Godzilla. Alerting Godzilla to the situation, JJ was finally able to convince the saurian to head for Japan.

Jet Jaguar soon landed right near Megalon and surprisingly challanged the drilling brute. Of course Megalon chuckled at the idea at first, but his tune changed when JJ modified himself to become as tall as Megalon. JJ unleashed a strom of melee moves on the titan and soon had the upper hand. Unknowingly to the giant beetle, Megalon's horn began to glow for some strange reason and soon began to send a signal of some sort out to the far reaches of space. The signal was picked up by the Nebulans themselves and had Gigan fly to find what was sending the strange S.O.S.

Gigan warped fast enough to find Megalon down. Gigan was shocked to see the brute, one just like him. Gigan saw JJ and quickly brought down the robot. Gigan wandered over and helped the beetle regain his composure. When Megalon looked at Gigan, it was as if he was looking at a long lost brother of sorts. Megalon's head began filling with memories of the Nebulans and his former missions of the past.

Megalon remembered that he was a creation of the Nebulans, not a Seatopian God. Megalon was the first cyborb monster created by the Nebulans, just before Gigan, with a similar purpose as his yonger brother. When he landed on Earth, he suffered amnisia apon landing and came across the Seatopians while on Earth. Megalon resembled greatly to the Seatopian god and bealived him self to be that god. But now Megalon remembered his former mission: to find life on other worlds and conquer it.

There was no time for a reunion though, as not only did JJ stand again, but was soon aided by Godzilla. Gigan told to Megalon that Godzilla was an enemy. Megalon decided to fight Godzilla instead and wanted Gigan to finish with JJ. Gigan happily obliged his older brother. Godzilla and Megalon locked horns in a savage beating, while JJ was brought down easily by the more experience cyborg warrior.
Seeing JJ in trouble, Godzilla ramed Megalon's horn into the groung causing the beetle to become stuck. Godzilla squared off with Gigan and soon toppled the cyborg. While helping JJ back up, Godzilla and Jet Jaguar in a ring of fire created by Megalon Napalm Bombs. JJ flew himself and Godzilla out and began an epic tag-team against the cyborg brothers and soon deafeted them. Gigan realised the inevitable and told Megalon to flee home. At first, Megalon wanted to return to Seatopia, but decided his true calling for the moment was his first home, Space Hunter Nebula M.

When the two warriors flew out of site Godzilla and JJ knew the day was won. JJ put out his hand for Godzilla, and the saurian king shook hand in claw with the new robot ally. As Godzilla swam back home Goro and the other ran to congratulate JJ. JJ, back to normal size, did not reponed until Goro used his remote. Goro realised that JJ must have turned of his self awarness realizing his work was done and all four went home with Rokuro riding on JJ's back.

Meanwhile back at Nebula Space Huner M, Megalon was givin' a heroes welcome back after beeing gone for so long. Soon, Gigan introduced his older brother to their new king, Ghidorah. Megalon was honored to have a king to lead him and Gigan. As for Ghidorah, he saw Megalon as a perfect new deciple for him. If Ghidorah was the king and Gigan was the knight, then Megalon was most certainly the rook. With such powerful allies at King Ghidorah's side , what could stop the space dragon now.
