Thank you.  I'm glad you liked it.  It is the partner picture of "Old Friends".  It is the tree beside that one, but different time of year, and time of day.

Another beautiful drawing of your special tree It would be interesting to see four seasons of  this tree

Actually this tree is the one right beside the other one (from Old Friends).  But, in both images there are a few branches that overlap from each other.  I had someone to ask if the tree was in the season of fall and it wasn't.  The original photo I used was taken during the first week of April 2014.  It was at night but the new leaves and branches were lit up by a nearby street light, which gave it the warm fall colors.

But, I'm glad you liked it.  I used a lot of blue (smile).

I really like the colours of the tree, and the sky, of course!

Reminds me of the sycamore trees I used to love so much, in many places from my childhood.

I love those too.  They are not as common here in Alabama though, but enough for me to enjoy.

Alabama, eh? A part of the States I have not traveled to. Born and raised all over California, but have lived in Montana, Oregon (), Minnesota... and various places out of the States.

Ah, wine country!  I have only seen Ca while flying over to Hawaii.  You need to drop by some time for some southern hospitality.

I would absolutely love to experience that, my friend! Shall I bring the wine?

See, you would fit in real well in the South.

We West-Coasters have our own hospitality... it's perhaps a bit more eccentric, and less codified...

I'm ok with different too.  As for me I would love to experience some of that hospitality, along with a visit to the wine country (smile).

Well, then! I'll just have to fire up the barbecue, crank up the tunes, and dust a few bottles off!

Sounds good.  If I still lived in Tacoma it would be a much easier drive though.

I love the Seattle area, but Portland has MUCH nicer weather! (*Sigh* I miss the Pacific Northwest...)

I believe I would enjoy taking a bike ride from Wa. down through Ca.

Ah, but I haven't lived in California for many years... I'm hoping to move back to Portland, myself! Man, I fell so hard for that city...

I did love the evergreens in that part of the country.  We don't get those down this way.

No, I wouldn't imagine so! But y'all get Spanish moss, which I think is so wonderfully moody... and fireflies, which the Pacific Northwest doesn't. I also love alligators and crocodiles... do you have those? (Forgive the ignorance... I'm not exactly sure where you are, relative to the waterways...)

JournalMTW In reply to copper9lives [2014-07-23 18:28:27 +0000 UTC]

I love the Spanish moss too.  This is usually seen in the lower portion of Alabama.  It isn't common to see "gators" in my part either, but not impossible.  Those too are more common in the southern part of the State.  We certainly have our share of fireflies (we also call them lightening bugs) and I love the sight of them too.  I enjoy sitting out in the evening and watching them.  Actually I had thought of doing a drawing of children catching them in jars (again an old Southern thing for kids).  But, I do plan on taking a trip to the lower part soon and will possibly see all of these.

I hope your trip is a wonderful one, full of new memories to treasure (and maybe some photographs to share)! No lightning bugs where I grew up... so I caught polliwogs and bullfrogs!

JournalMTW In reply to copper9lives [2014-07-29 16:45:59 +0000 UTC]

I will certainly take lots of photos.

I guess if we have more bullfrogs then we might have fewer lightning bugs.  They will probably stay with us for another two months.
