This is the Medicine Seller's other half - the one who kills mononoke (the 'Medicine Seller' or 'Kusuri-uri' is the hunter/detective).I painted this in oil on wood, starting with a graphite drawing. I wanted the layers of oil paint to be translucent, showing the grain of the wood. The gold detailing on his skin and on/around the flowers was done with Sakura Pentouch gold metallic pen, and the 'background' layer is oil paint in gold. He's shiny!

There are parts of the picture that didn't turn out especially well, but some that did. That's the way it is when you're working with shiny metallic stuff, I'm afraid! (even in a scanned image) I would have made all of the flowers white, but I wanted the picture to be all colourful. ^^
