Description
A commissioned work forIt's big A3 size in rl, beige and grey/violetish are metallic colors, so it's a bit hard to judge them form the scan.
Two weeks of meticulous work - it's part drawn, part painted and for the most part it's application with Japanese patterned paper (washi).
Enjoy!
He is a dreamweaver, the pearls are dreams, he is a curve of your imagination and perception a new angle to look at things.
Contortion is an art form, no hint of painful experience is meant in this work.

Yeah, well pearls are connected to the moon in lore usually, not to mention one of my all time favorite gems^^, and the whole concept came around so spontaneously to me... it was so much fun to make!

Ok, longer comment. I'm still avoiding homework.
The blend of line and pattern for this one is truly amazing...you also have lent your sense of composition and style to a truly unique piece here, and I love how it's working for you. This one is so~ very pretty~ I can see why your comissioner wanted something like this~ only you could come up with it.
Also, the moon and the pearls....these work so well for me...oh, my, yes. They do. The shape itself is perfect...an eternal sphere formed in a circle, strewn around a beautifully arranged figure. Not to mention-- dreams? Really? COOL. I love dreams so much, and this artistic interpretation of them is so~ lovely~ and a truly beautiful representation. Each dream is, after all, precious...just like a pearl...
The rounded, flowing hair works really well for me, too.

the thing with washi - when you put first bits on the lineart, you start asking yourself, why you started all this? And this feeling does not let go until you finish,and suddenly you know you were right to begin^^ (if you are lucky)
pearls were the first that came to my mind, and it was arranged around it. Pearls have a connection to the moon, and they have a strange mystical aura bout them - putting them on you feel both stronger and more fragile. Very special gem to me. Dreamy~

I still can't get enough of his beautiful face and how exotic it looks with this posture. The bend and the pattern work so ideally together, every time I look at him I wish he was real so I could huggle him <333 And I absolutely adore all of your ideas -- the little details look so perfect ^-^
Just so can't wait to hang it upon my bed and hopefully catch a lot of new bendy dreams -- haven't been seeing them lately... xD;;
