I told myself I won't do any more of these not-so-original stuff anymore, but when they shape up nicely, I can't resist finishing them up. Anyway, I've done this particular work before [link]
I hope I might add another character later (not simba) that would integrate a bit of plot into this.
I like these night colors, they are quite smooth and easy on the eyes. And yes, my second art for the day. I might start doing more night scenes.

UPDATE: Ok, I'm gonna put Rafiki in, from all the interesting possibilities. Here's the dialogue as I see it, after the graveyard incident.

Mufasa: I cannot lose him.

Rafiki: And you won't. He's only a child Mufasa, and he will learn your forefather's wisdom through you. And until that time, you will have to run and save him when he gets himself into trouble.

Mufasa: But I can't always have him in my sight.

Rafiki: He's not alone.
