Digital lineart and painting practice, also the first time posting something about the world of Aria, a fantasy RPG scenario. I'm not gonna post much about the world itself, as those aren't official illustrations, jut practice. Really fun to do by the way. The ones up there are a female deerien druid and a male deerien archer.

As a small introduction to the context, Aria is a fantasy world I'm developing with some friends, merging a lot of ideas that we had in the last few years. The picture shows the Deeriens(De~riens) one of the basic playable races of the world (and also the tallest). Deeriens are a plant race with a virtually endless life span. Organized in a matriarcal society with few males, druid and geomancer deeriens have a connection with the earth and can comprehend the flow of mystic energies, beeing capable of casting huge environmental spells (landscape design queens?). Deerien warriors and archers develops a higher control over their own body, generating weapons and armors from their own tissues. Deeriens are also capable of summoning, the ancient art of calling the spirits of earth to defend the woods. Deeriens are born with a variety of skin tones, from white (frequently with darker spots) to ebony, and their hair can be on any natural pigmentation found in wood, leaves and flowers. Deeriens usually carry long branch-like horns that can be slowly molded as helmets and tiaras, or simply grow as horns pointing backwards.

This book is our second ongoing project, as our priority is the PC game, Midnight Tales. And yes, Okami invaded my photoshop .
