Description Long time since I last posted something about Aria, and this will also be my last submission before christmas.

And here we have one of the most dangerous creatures of the world of Aria: Matrioshka, the mother of all Fey.

"Fey are creatures born from the darkness itself, existing as the negative of all elements. A fey in it's original form is a little winged humanoid not higher than 1 feet, however, once it gathers the powers of darkness around itself, it grows bigger than an average human and is called by the name of Gran-muhr. More than one fey may form a single Gran-muhr, producing some of the most terrible creatures around the world, that rival in power with the dragons.

Among the most powerfull ones can be found Matrioshka, the only Gran-muhr considered the mother of the feys, as it is capable of giving birth to countless feys. It was Matrioshka the one responsible for the death of the Red dragon--, but disappeared in the process.

As more and more Feys have been recently appearing around the world, scholars are starting to consider the possibility of her death beeing a premature veredict.

Feys are the only creatures capable of manipulating the darkness element, deeper and stronger than the shadow element manipulated by the Gards. They are capable of cursing the creatures they wish with a dark mark, by wich the cursed creature can cast darkness magic, as long as it is working under the command of the fey. Only monsters have been spotted wearing a fey mark, but there are records of humans and other races bearing the mark during the first Fey War."

This 'baby' is at least 6 meters tall, and although it's not the biggest Gran-muhr ever seen (the ones that fought the dragons directly are many times bigger), it's extreme darkness density makes it hard to take down. It's ability to give birth to new feys makes sure that she has never been seen without at least an army of Gran-muhr.

At the current Aria's timeline, Fey's are considered a legend by the humans and most of the races, and even the few deeriens that know about their existence consider them extinct.

I would also like to mention that we created a group to host all Aria's material. The beta logo is on the right!

More Aria concepts after the holidays

PS: I have no idea of what is written in the background. Just found this stylish and beautifull sidham caligraphy and felt the urge to use it...
PS2: I have to give credit to the texture and special brushes, I'll check them later and add here! The Sidham caligraphy was found somewhere around the internet and is a compilation of many images, not a font.

edit: As I promissed, credit goes for for the textures and for the brushes!

Sure... only mind that she is about 5~6 meters tall... flying is a good option here

Very interesting. It kinda looks like one of Southey's pictures.

Speaking of Southey, where do you think she went?

UHm... she is either in a faraway land with her family for the vacation, or playing Granado Espada. The weeks I were playing it I could easily find her almost 24/7 I'll try to play later to see if I find her.

Matrioshka was originally designed as a summon for southey a long long time ago. So it's not surprising that you can see her in it. Now Matrioshka is the greatest danger in the world of Aria.

I would like to know what she thinks about this image, but I still couldn't find her.

Perhaps she got sucked into the void of eternal darkness with Valkryst as he was banished by Ranfeur, or she could just be stuck with her family for the longest time. Either way, her demise makes me cringe.

Couldn't find her at GE either, so it's probably one of those. Eventually she will come back from the dead ( from what I recall, she's a lich already).

Then again, someone could have destroyed her phylactery, and thus she would be completely destroyed even as a lich. Then the only way to bring her back would be to go into the dreamworld of the Fade and get her to possess some other living being. Wow. Getting friends back from the dead is tiring.

Yep... The good thing is, if something serious had happened, I believe her brother would have said something... or not, who knows.

Either way, I hope she comes back from the dead in time to watch Avatar. It surely worths the ticket.

I know! It was an amazing movie, probably because of the fact that the cgi people actually looked real, but still!

I was way more impressed by the scenario, plants and animals, instead of the characters but they were really well done and convincing. This movie is surely a mark on the fantasy movie industry.

Oh yeah, and southey is alive, she will give some news soon. Or not, she might be dragged again to the dephs of nowhere again.

As long as she's only being dragged into nowhere, that's fine. Now, if it were a place that didn't exist, then we'd have to worry.

So... Deja lu?
(Deja vu = already seen, deja lu = already read... I take French at school, and we learned that)

Inarispellborn In reply to Navaunir [2010-01-14 02:06:54 +0000 UTC]

I didn't know there's an specific term for that, though deja vu is really common.

I've studied french for about an year, four years ago, so I'm pretty sure "Je ne parle pas" it. Some things are still recognizeable while reading it.

There is no specific term, though that was the direct translation.
Currently I am enrolled in a Frech class and have taken it since third grade, so I would hope I had at least a baisic understanding of it.

I would have studied it more if university wasn't so time-demanding. I gave up on studying french when I could no longer find time to study for it.

I HAVE to do it as a result of my highschool, and so that may play a role in that.

If it already part of your main course, than you have an extra motivation to do so. In my case, it was extra.

Navaunir In reply to Inarispellborn [2010-01-17 22:16:59 +0000 UTC]

It isn't necessary that I take five years of it, it's just an easy AP, so I convince myself that it is a lazy cop-out, and thus I do well.

Have southey contacted you yet?

Navaunir In reply to Inarispellborn [2010-01-18 17:11:09 +0000 UTC]

Nope. I don't think she's ever talked to me once without me talking to her first, but then again I haven't put anything up in ages, so what would we have to talk about?

The Matrioshka design and the background history documenting the Feys is quite detailed. =]

It was a fun read and though they're to be "feared," the current rare consistency of this particular Fey does suggest to me that it's a legend.

Inarispellborn In reply to kariavalon [2009-12-23 04:10:00 +0000 UTC]

Good way to see it. Right now she is a legend, but I'm considering that she did exist in the past and may appear once more in the future. Among the humans, the word fey have been used to scare children, and most of the population doesn't believe that they do exist.

kariavalon In reply to Inarispellborn [2009-12-26 04:04:20 +0000 UTC]

I see~ ='D

The existence cannot be forsaken easily if other races still see it as existing. Then again, time has a way of altering the views of people overtime (which is quite true in the conceptions of various histories whether its fictional or real).
