Description The poster stands for itself. Still, here are some good reasons why you should all just let it go:

-The other Avengers did forgive him. A long time ago. The writers just won't. Every time they resolve the issue, SOMEONE brings it up again. Every. Fucking. Time.
-Fun fact: Jan had been deliberately manipulating and abusing his unstable mental state to force him into marriage with her and continued to do so to maintain their lifestyle. It's not domestic abuse, it's karma.
-It was ONE loss of control.
-If I had a nickel for every time Pym redeemed himself, I could call the lottery "spare change"
-According to Jim Shooter, it was originally supposed to be that Hank accidentally backhand her while making a "I give the hell up, this is getting ridiculous" gesture, but that the artist, who was taught to portray the most dramatic interpretation, took that to mean hauling off and hitting her.
-This all happened because Captain America kicked him off the Avengers for "recklessness". First, he thought Cap was in danger and tried to save him. Second, if that were fair, Iron Man would've been an Avenger for an even shorter time than the Hulk. (Who quit in the second freaking issue!)
-If anyone tries to use Ultimate to counter, remember that even Captain America is a complete asshole in Ultimate

Janet Van Dyne had enough of Hank Pym, she rejects him and start dating with DC's Raymond "Ray" Palmer/Atom and marries him forever

Jan had seized the opportunity when Hank temporarily went cuckoo and became Yellowjacket to tie the not with him because she had been waiting long enough to propose to her despite her heavy hints (remember, this was in the 1960s when it was still very unusual for women to propose marriage). When Hank became sane again he was pleased with the result. That was all. She did not continue to manipulate him during the marriage, and she certainly did not do it to maintain their lifestyle. Up until he became Yellowjacket he would not propose to her because she had a whole lot more of money than he did; it wasn't that he did not love her, it was that he did not want to appear to be "kept" by his wife (again, it was the 1960s and old attitudes die hard).

Cyclops/Scott Summers is one of few characters that is more often the victim of this and bad writing.Β

HeΒ got suspended for attacking someone who surrender. As such he was court martial temporary for it. HeΒ created a robotΒ to attack during the Court Martial so he can stop it, and look good. Wasp was trying to stop him from going through with the plan. Failed to do so. Ultron is the way he is because of the fact he is a clone of Hank's thoughts, but he lacks humanity as a result of being a robot. Actually Hank forced Janet to marry him and stayed because she wanted to marry him before he became Yellow Jacket.

Why do people obsess over this one scene anyways? Writers sometimes do something that makes a character look bad, but this gets so much focus? Why? Why this? Why not that time Doctor Doom tried to kill the Fantastic Four by switching bodies with Daredevil?

actually hank pym has been know for be unstable but the writer said it was supposed to be mistake due to hank was supose hit her with arm swing in the air hit her accident plus hank has bi polar issue and is insecure person why do you think he change to gaint man persona and not stick with ant man, rage of ultron explain it best that hank pym only fool himselve to believe he good howeer this in turn make hank pym a man of struggle that are root way in his sicy and choose not get best him

well hero is alway about the struggles and i do agree hank pym had the short end of the stick for his credit of being a hero he did ten the effort to make up for it like when he was out of all the avengers to find wasp when she was thought dead and became a teacher to avenger academy plus when it came to ultron he alway to responsible even thought he didn't have to or when create ai avengers and fought for thier as living being hank pym does more right then wrong in my eye

Well, Hank wasn't at all innocent. He was suspended for attacking someone who had stopped fighting. They decided to have a court martial to determine if he could stay, and he BUILT A ROBOT to attack during the Court Martial so he could redeem himself. This picture is him backhanding Wasp when she tried to stop him from going through with the plan. He did anyways and failed to stop his own creation.

Since then he has worked to redeem himself, and done an admirable job of it.

Oh and your assertion that hitting a spouse is justifiable because they pounced on an opportunity is a sign of something wrong with you. Unless you are being attack, hitting a woman is wrong.

ImdaBatman In reply to lorthazar [2015-01-17 17:51:01 +0000 UTC]

Okay, you have a point. But maybe the other Avengers should've tried to help the clearly-unwell Pym instead of just kicking him off the team.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lorthazar In reply to ImdaBatman [2015-01-17 21:49:21 +0000 UTC]

I don't argue they should have helped him, but honestly I would not have left him on the team for fear we would be back to page one. When you are constantly wrestling with world ending events do you want to be worried that one of your teammates might just make things worse? No sane person. Still they could have helped him, even let him consult until they were sure he was stable enough to be part of the main team again.

ImdaBatman In reply to MagicalKeyPizzaDan [2014-01-09 23:52:55 +0000 UTC]

True. Like Brainiac 5, and, uh...wasn't there something between her and Jimmy Olsen for a while? And I remember there was some dude named Dick (not Nightwing, though she did have a crush on him, but he's pretty much...what's the male equivalent of "the town bike"?) And there was a Kryptonian guy Kell-Ur in the Man of Steel comic tie-in. (god I loved that movie) If there were any others I'm missing, I was probably too busy wishing I could be on that list to notice.

Although I still ship her with Lex Luthor. (Don't judge me! There are much weirder ships on this sight!)

But it's not like a hero/villain romance is anything new. Green Lantern and Star Sapphire, Red Arrow and Cheshire, Iron Man and Madame Masque, Daredevil and pretty much any female villain he fights, and then there's... do I even need to say it?
