Servant of Frey and his best friend in the myths.
My version of Skírnir was sent by the corrupt Vanir council as a child to give them information on the royal family. He fulfilled this role for many years but when Njord Frey and Freyja moved to Asgard he had less and less contact with them and began to grow tired of his double role he wanted to leave. So when Frey got obsessed with Gerd he offered to fetch her in return for Frey's sword that fights for itself, thinking he can use the sword to get work as a mercenary in Jotunheim and be able to defend himself if the council comes after him.
So he went to Gerð and asked her to marry Frey she said no and he threatened her (which Frey did not ask him to do) with a gambanteinn (rune stick for casting spells) until she agrees job done he left Asgard.
