Description Altonatator is a very social animal. They live in small groups with 4 to 9 specimens and often hunt together. The hatchlings learn from the adults and don't leave the herd until a age of 6 years.
Different to all seasnakes, Altonatator have lips, so they can show their teeth or not. It's a important tool of communication. They combine it with tail swinging and flipper wriggle to form a huge vocabulary of gestures.

These animals wandering every summer in the antarctic waters.

They could kill nearly everything. But as social animals they respect the other predators... mostly...

Yiu say hatchlings. Do these lay eggs? If so, how do they manage to get onto land? They're decended from mosasaurs, are they not?

They look like mososaurs, so where do they fit on the dragon family tree?

Hyrotrioskjan In reply to Penrose12 [2011-10-20 20:44:45 +0000 UTC]

Wait a moment I'm uploading the tree

Penrose12 In reply to Hyrotrioskjan [2011-10-20 21:34:01 +0000 UTC]

Cause I was thinking that it might suggest that mosasaurs are more closely related to dragons than they are to true varanids.
