Description Since I've drawn Corpse Bride's Emily in the Disney style ([link] ), I decided to try portraying her as she may have looked in life. I tried to determine the timeframe by Victoria's dress, and settled for circa 1860's or so... Her gown is based on Clara's costumes from Passion, a musical. I went for a steely lavender on the gown, a foreshadowing of her imminent, predoniment blue "death" tonality. The jewelry indicates her relative wealth, and she wears a butterfly hair clip.

I'm not entirely sure her "Wedding Gown" was actually a wedding gown, since strapless in Victorian times would be absolutely wrong. Except for the train, I'm inclined to think it was really her undergarments, corset and petticoat.

Also my laptop's screen has a high brightness, so I didn't intend for the shadows on the skirt to be so dark.

Coloured rather clumsily in Painter X.

So, so beautiful! She kind of reminds me of Cathy from Wuthering Heights like this, for some reason XD

Or it could have been mostly silk which rots quickly.

And the fact that it's silk would also denote her family's relative wealth.

I'd seen it done before, but I wanted to put my own spin on her. Thanks.

Omigodomigodomigod! This is awesome. I heart this picture. As with pretty much of all your pictures. You must get tired of me mentioning your amazing-ness. And I think the shadows are fine. I suck at shading like no other, though, so....
