I'm speechless. In all its morbidity, it's sooo. GORGEOUS. this is really amazing. I love the deep rich colors and the expression of the horse. It's revengeful. Sweet!

I come back to this image over and over again in my favorites, every time it pops up on the random favorites list I click it open and have a good ol' stare at it.

A lot of people have said it's depressing and bitter. I think it's inspiring. I get the impression he's dragging himself up out of the dirt, old and battered , knocked down, but still getting up, moving.

I think it depends on how you perceive his eye? For a while I saw his eye as an open eye, looking upwards. When I look at it harder I saw that it's close, so the 'open eye' is really caused by a highlight on his eyelid, but I guess my first perception stuck with me.

A beautiful, beautiful image that'll stick with me indefinately. <3

Wow, this sure is a somber and bitter themed picture. That's a very well drawn horse. Love the mane.

Poor thing, the vet wouldn't have a clue what to do with 'im. Though I guess if anyone finds his body fast enough, they get some free spare parts and some free money from the glue factory...

You've really taken the idea of an animal as nothing more than a working machine to a whole other level. A combination of emotion and cold mechanics is hard to create effectively but you have done it well here.

How did you manage to use rust as a medium? scrapings (or ground powder) from a rusted object brushed on? Or perhaps an adhesive mixture?

1) I can think of all kinds of symbolism inherent in this piece.Β  (I'd be surprised if I was right about any of it...but oh well.)
2) You win for using DIY pigments.
