Description To the humans, the USBR's armored vehicles are equal parts bizarre and terrifying. At best, the USBR's vehicles are considered to be alien in nature, at worst, they are referred to as "surgical monstrosities even Frankenstein could not have fathomed". They are not wrong -- the USBR's armored vehicles are not true vehicles at all, but instead are oversized versions of its Botanoid civilians, surgically and genetically modified into the grotesque creatures they are today.

With the Botanoids' penchant for replicating human technology, they have naturally taken to attempting to replicate the success of certain human armored vehicles. As such, even as they reel in disgust at the sight of the USBR's armored vehicles, the humans have to admit -- these "vehicles" are indeed effective against their modern human counterparts, despite their near-resemblance to older, more outdated models. An excellent example is the S-34 main battle tank of the USBR army, named after -- and built on the design of one of World War 2's most successful tanks, the Soviet T-34.

Seeing how well the T-34 had performed against German tanks in World War 2, the USBR reasoned that with their current technology, it would be possible to remake the T-34 such that it could be a force to be reckoned with when going against human tanks. A few bureaucratic processes and a lot of morbid creativity later, the S-34 was born.

Where the T-34 would have been at the mercy of modern HEAT and AP shells, the S-34 resolves this weakness with its genetically modified skin. As with regular tank armor, the S-34's skin is so hard and thick that it can resist quite a few direct hits from a normal tank -- in fact, its skin has been likened to the armor of human armored vehicles in that both are very strong. While the T-34 required a crew of 4 to squeeze into the tank, only one Botanoid is needed to operate the tank -- the tank's eyes provide the pilot with a view of the surroundings, while an autoloader does the job of preparing the gun for firing. In fact, the brains of each S-34 are lobotomized and cybernetically retrofitted so that the pilots may use them as interfaces. The pilot boards an S-34 from the frontal hatch (the grey plating on the tank's frontal area), the rear space is where the organs and engine are crammed. (The brain and eyes are in the turret/head, obviously).

Pictured is an S-34 as it trundles along a snowy landscape, while a lone Botanoid conscript marches beside it.
===============================================================
Say hello to the USBR's living tanks! Very organic and environmentally friendly, yes!

Note: I traced over a photograph of a T-34 for this artwork. Two reasons why I did so:
1. Lore-wise, the USBR copies human tech a lot, so it makes sense for their army vehicles to resemble human army vehicles.
2. I am awful at drawing tanks.
don't get mad pls
