Description Meet the Botanoid! This creature is heavily inspired by PvZ 's plants, so no copyright infringement intended.
DESCRIPTION:
The Botanoids are a race of plant-like organisms that possess sentience and sapience. Commonly regarded as evolutionary oddities by human scientists, these creatures came into existence during the Jurassic Age. Following the beginning of the Ice Age, the Botanoids began to evolve sapience, allowing for the creation of basic tools and the formation of rudimentary communities. However, when the first human civilizations that appeared came across the Botanoids, they saw that their exotic nature would make them to be excellent pets and servants. Thus, the entire Botanoid race was enslaved, and any hope of them forming a proper civilization was dashed. Through artificial breeding of the Botanoids by humans to obtain 'ideal' spawn, the gene pool was completely upended and by the beginning of the Middle Ages, only the 'pea' variant of the Botanoids persisted. Moreover, the process of acquiring sapience was slowed quite dramatically as a result.
Still, life finds a way: Throughout the ages, the Botanoids slowly but surely clawed back the sapience they were supposed to evolve and by the beginning of the Roman Golden Age, the Botanoids had become sapient enough to desire freedom from enslavement, yet also knew that their scattered numbers made revolts impossible. Thus, they chose to flee from the human civilizations first chance they got, and it worked: By the beginning of the Middle Ages, all but a handful of Botanoids had escaped their fate of being enslaved by the humans. The Botanoids would then drift around for quite a while, looking for a good spot to finally start their civilization. At the beginning of the 19th century, they finally found a place to settle down in the form of an island continent that no human had ever found. From there, the Botanoids' history would soon develop in quite a number of ways...

Pictured is the anatomy of a Botanoid. Feel free to ask questions.
