Description
An Encaustic art piece - not digital art - approx 8" square, done with iron & stylus. This piece was inspired by the ancient symbols representing water, fire, earth, air, aether or spirit.All of my artwork is copyright protected, use of any work whether whole or in part is against the law without my express permission. I may agree to the use of my artwork free of charge for charitable/educational purposes etc. but please contact me beforehand to discuss its use.

Honestly, the fact that this isn't digital art just makes it greater overall.
I really like the execution and how there's so many shades and strokes to keep things interesting. The colours contrast well and you've portrayed the concept effectively too.
I like how it feels so... balanced, if you get what I mean. It all feels quite exact.

it's the techique I thought you used to get the patterns. It is when you use another paper or an object to take some of your still wet colour off the picture to introduce ripples and patterns into the colour space.

That's very interesting, but the technique of Encaustic uses wax melted with different tools like a small iron & a stylus or hot air gun. You then use the hot wax on different surfaces, in this case sealed card. The wax produces the ripples etc as it drys, which is almost instantaneous. The whiteness of the Pentagram & circle is done by scraping through the cold wax.

I really love this. The colours are beautiful, it's great how you coloured the points of the pentagram with the colours of the elements you put in there. The background is just icing on the cake
