Description

Main character for my original and currently non-existent story: Hanne Monogatari. It involves alternate realities/universes and two people from completely different worlds (literally) learning to trust each other as they try to overcome various difficulties and eventually growing closer in that journey. Pft... sorry if it sounds corny. xD

We have the protagonist - Hirari, who accidentally stumbles through a crack between the dimensions into another alternate world called Aethscavoir where she is thought to be the foretold maiden (Hanne) of a certain prophecy. It so happens that during this particular time, Aethscavoir is also in turmoil and its people are desperately searching for the legendary savior who is said to be able to restore balance between the worlds.

Aethscavoir and the human world are linked in such a way that if Aethscavoir receives a blow, the human world also suffers the aftermath and vice-versa. The Hanne is like a point in which the universes hang in balance, her powers being the one thing that keeps these worlds from toppling over one another, so to speak.

Yes, I know this all sounds very, very familiar. You can either blame it on my unoriginality or my rabid shoujo fan streak. xD

I really haven't revealed much about her before this so I believe some sort of explanation might be in order. These are just her rough character drafts, nothing is permanent. Most probably there will constantly be changes according to my whims.

PROFILE

Saiseki Hirari
Age: 16
Blood-type: B
Height: 4' 8" (Really short, though I tend to accidentally draw her taller xD; )

Traits:
- an introvert, bit awkward with people, self-conscious, takes things
too seriously at times

- Has the tendency to mull over stuff, sometimes thinking of silly,
pointless things which makes her seem detached from her surroundings

- Usually appears subdued and composed but hides a very emotional
side. Inwardly, she's temperamental and easily governed by her feelings,
which could lead her to act rather impulsively. She sees this trait of hers
as a sort of weakness and obsessively keeps it in check in front of others
most of the time.

- She's pretty guarded and finds it hard to open up to others. When she does,
has the tendency to become too attached/reliant.

- Contrary to her seemingly docile appearance, is actually verbally
aggressive and curses often when irritated.

Other stuff:
- Short-sighted but is rarely seen wearing glasses. Will find an excuse
to avoid wearing them.

- The clothes she likes to wear are often misleading towards
her personality. Also has a weakness for pretty things.

- Wears huge sneakers/ tall boots to make up for her lack of
height and because she thinks it makes her look less timid.

- At school, she often spends her free time alone on the roof (if
possible), either sleeping, doodling, or staring off into space.
Dozing off is her favourite past time.

- Becomes uncharacteristically perky and loud when talking about things
that interests or amuses her.

Description:
At a single glance, she's a fairly unremarkable girl, the sort that easily fades into the background. Generally, she prefers it that way. Despite being somewhat peculiar, she doesn't really stand out mostly due to the way she carries herself – striving to attract as little attention as possible as she is afraid of messing up in front of others. She finds it difficult to admit to mistakes and is very meticulous in her efforts to avoid making them. This also keeps her from trying anything new or adventurous (even if she secretly wants to).

She guards herself fiercely and is calculative and cautious of new company. She greatly values her personal space and prefers to keep to herself but isn't entirely independent. Towards strangers, she usually wears a facade of polite cheerfulness, playing upon naivety because she finds it makes conversations easier to handle. Other times, she doesn't even bother to make the effort, and simply displays outright disinterest. She's been told her neutral face either comes across as stand-offish or just plain gloomy.

Although she isn't normally out-spoken, she can be surprisingly blunt and nonchalant - something which is usually misinterpreted by others as honesty or her acting 'cool', earning her somewhat of a reputation for composure, when that is hardly the case. She is in fact quite sensitive to outside opinions, making it hard for her to feel at ease enough to truly be open about her feelings, so she hides behind a mask of indifference.

She despises conflict so tends to be manipulative with her words in order to maneuver her way around various uncomfortable situations smoothly. All this makes her regard everyday life as tedious and wearisome, making her much preferring to just sit somewhere on her own or with a small group of close confidants whom she’s comfortable with.

She is rebellious in weird ways that usually does little to change anything. For example, hoping to shed the outwardly timid-vulnerable image of herself, she took up martial arts. But instead of going for things like Juudo or Karate, she joined the Kendo and Kyuudo clubs although fully aware that sword fighting and archery are hardly practical nowadays.

She's a dreamer who is bored with her normal life and secretly yearns for something exciting and extraordinary to occur. More often than not, she finds herself wishing to escape from the world she’s in where everything is familiar and everyday is routine; the kind of place where you sort of have a vague idea of what’s going to happen next. She hates this predictability and yet deep down, it's also the very thing which she subconsciously seeks comfort from no matter how often she feels disconnected from her surroundings and sees them as dull and unexciting. She wishes for change, yet shrinks back from it in fear of leaving the familiar little space that has always kept her safe thus far.

Note:
Hirari’s high school is called Shirahane Gakuen. 'White Wings'.
