Kamio Misuzu from the anime A I R. An excellent series! Both in terms of the storyline and animation. I’ve only watched 3 episodes so far [was kinda slow cuz I’d been repeatedly watching the first few episodes instead of moving on]… I only have one qualm regarding this anime. I heard that it has a sad ending… *whimpers*
I *hate* sad endings…
The face proportion was inked with a 0.1 technical pen while the rest was done using pigment ink+calligraphy brush pens [lazylazylazy…!]. Coloured using Kurecolor and Copic Sketch markers. The marker I used for skin tone ran out. I had to desperately squeeze out whatever was left of it and made do with some other colour for the remainder of the pic. The result was -- ick! And don’t say anything about the hand. Deformed, I know. I’d like to forget about that, please. And I left out the bow on her dress.
There won’t be anymore coloured drawings after this unless I can get my ass to KL’s Kinokuniya and get a new ‘Milky white’ Copic Sketch marker for the skin tones…
Tools: sketchpad paper, 0.5 mechanical pencil, 0.1 pigment ink pen, technical pen, 0.7 Uni-ball white gel pen, Copic Sketch & Kurecolor markers.

-I see that you have seen the whole series, but for those who haven't *SPOILERS* are below
Mizuzu ends up being reincarnated again so in fact, it seems that Kanna and Ryuua-dono are truly happy since they are together (they're the pair of young children that were waving back at Mizuzu-rin in the beginning of the series +they're part of the anime's logo)
...also, I wonder if things are slightly different in the game?
I've yet to try and import the PS2 version from Japan so I haven't played it and can't tell you much about that either (not to mention that my Japanese comprehension is worse than a Kindergardener's level nowadays so that ought to be fun ^-^; ...)
-Anyway, this is nice marker work...
I would have liked it better if her right hand hadn't been cut off, and that there was more Negative Space below her feet but it is understandable that you may not have had sufficient space on the paper you were working on...
-darn it, I want to draw Mizuzu-chin now! ;_; noes! I don't have time for that!~

That's some really pretty colouring and the line art is amazing. Man with all this Air fan art around dA I think I better see this anime. I like most of all the way you coloured her dress and the skin , the shading is nice and smooth.

me too! i cried at the end and attacked my sister's computer, where i was watching it. I breathe fluff so i was all omg wtf nuuuuuuuuu! at that ending. My sis went on to extole that 'see look, it was a happy ending...the curse was lifted and the kids are going to be normal" to which she got a bloodshot stare and me asking her that if she reeeeeally liked her laptop, she'd take it away because it punctured my happy bubble.

Anyways.... this is such a lovely picture of Misuzu! I wish I were as good at markers as you! I especially like the way you coloured the hair!

I do want to buy the refill but sadly, I can only get the *markers* here in Malaysia. Kinokuniya's the only place I know of where I can find Copic markers but they don't sell refills. God knows why.

the expression is superb.. jz capture how she'd feel in the anime.. beginning till the end.. *sobsob* I really liked this series, although it originated from a hentai game.. the storyline is great and the visual is awesome. now waiting for the summer arc to come, tho i'd like it with misuzu in, instead of her past life ...

Craftmanship is good as always ^^x i love how you shaded her. The hair is especially nice, the way it just flys out. I also like how you put the cloud background, it makes her really stand out. She looks really kind and giving but her expression is kinda mixed to me... is she sad, because if she is then that would be understandable. If she was happy though, it'd be kinda confusing for this one to see the happy Oox Her eyes look so sad... like she's running to some one to help them. Lolx i'm not so sure 'bout the expression but i love every thing else ^^x

To tell you the truth, I never really thought how exactly she'd feel when I drew her. I don't think about most things when I draw... you know... just go with the flow and accept whatever comes out in the end. ^^
But on your question... now that I had studied the drawing a little more... yes, I supposed she did come out looking a bit sad in the way [in the eyes, as you've mentioned].
Sad but still... trying to smile.
