Description So I just recently got myself a Wacom tablet!  (all my past digital colorings were done painstakingly by mouse OTL) 

I wanted to revisit one of my old Samus redesigns:  God Eater streetclothes. So here’s a drawing of her set in the dystopian ruins of “God Eater.” Full-view if possible. Enjoy!

Not much of a God Eater fan to be honest. I think it's fun though. And I love over the top anime tropes. Just not too into it. But that being said, I do wish they would localize the new God Eater games.

Ah no worries. I just happen to enjoy God Eater (and more recently, Freedom Wars), but MH is still my go-to fave.

That aside, thanks! This was a lot of fun to draw, and a good test for the flexibility of pure tablet and digital drawing. I hope to draw more actively and frequently in the future!

LOL yeah, MH still number one! GE's not bad. I just have too many small gripes about it. I'd rank Freedom Wars higher. I'm not a shooter guy, but I love the chaos of multiple small people spraying lead on one giant enemy. It sometimes makes me feel like I'm not doing enough to sway the outcome of the battle though. And I'm not too fond of the weapon upgrade system though. Still, a great game! I should pick it up again. I was on Level 6 before I dropped it.

There's a lot of things to like in Freedom Wars-- but also a lot of things to improve on. Being  stickler for perfection, the wep upgrading system in FW had to deal with a lot of RNG and soft-resetting the game... I also wish the wep upgrades would be more visually distinctive and exciting as MH's plethora of weps.

That said... Freedom Wars char customization was too amazing to have fun with (I made chars cosplay from many other video game/anime series I'm a fan of xD) and the thorn "3DMG" mobility just added an extra layer of gameplay fun that helps it stand apart from the rest.

So many games we leave unfinished in our backlog, huh? xD If you want to play FW multi together, I'd be up for it!

Yeah, I hated the RNG dependent weapon crafting. That's why I didn't invest too much time in Guild Quests in MH4U. I just played it for fun and the Divine Spheres. It was really annoying to sacrifice a decent weapon to make a new one. Then your favorite skill gets replaced by a skill that doesn't work on the weapon. Then there's the weapon growth types that you have to look out for. When I read that, I never really bothered looking into it again. It just felt too bothersome to me for some reason.

I never really bothered with the character customization. I got the look I wanted, and now the newer options just didn't work for me for some reason. XD But I really loved the thorn grappling hook! It was so easy to use. I have so much fun using it to continuously aerial slash an Abductor, ala Toukiden's Kusarigama. XD

Haha sure man. I'd have to first review what I left in my game though. And I really have to upgrade my weapons. IIRC, it was starting to take a while to kill the Abductors at my rank.

The intuitiveness and straightforward crafting of MH weapons was a lot better by comparison. As for char customization, I'm pretty sure I made ALicia & Welkin (Valkyria Chronicle), Aigis, Naoto, & Yu Narukami (Persona 3/4), Zero Suit Samus (Metroid), Ryuko Matoi & Satsuki (Kill la Kill, and finally, Okabe and Kurisu (Steins;Gate)-- all with FW char customization. Yes, I spent a lot of time enjoying using the customization options in FW. xD

For better or worse though, you needed a properly upgraded wep with the right skill perks to boost your dmg a lot. I used the trusty Barbara Blaster iirc. Lastly, I played Toukiden too!

True that. Really loved MH's gear system. Looks like MHX's weapon upgrading has been tweaked too. Apparently, all weapon upgrades will now act like IGs now. You "feed" the weapon different materials to level it up, before finally upgrading to the next tier. Simple is sometimes cool too. GE's weapon based skill system is pretty nice and straightforward. In Toukiden's case though... didn't really work out for me. The weapon trees in Toukiden were too complicated. Almost every upgrade changes the weapon's element for no reason. It's kinda hard to just pick a weapon path and stick to it. You're forced to craft all the weapons just so you can get a level correct weapon for each element.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of cool characters in online of Freedom Wars. None of them looked familiar, but I never saw any two characters that look alike. It's amazing!

So I've heard. Hopefully MHX's new wep system is intuitive and encourages hunting monster variety instead of just "let's farm X monster because it's the easiest material farming to upgrade all weps of any type or element." I can relate to all the pros and cons of the other "MH"-like game upgrade systems though. Some I forgot. xD

Yeah I hope. The upgrades themselves would probably require more rare materials like always, just like Insect Glaives. This might remove the need for making stop gap weapons though. It's less hassle, but I thought it was one of the more interesting strategy considerations in MH weapon crafting though.
