Of course color and b&w both have their merits... color can be an excellent tool for creating unity. Just a thought, but maybe people are attracted to b&w images because it forces the viewer to see things differently than in their everyday life (because we see in color). Also, in photojournalism, it reminds us of newspapers and famous older images of that nature from back in the day... like the photojournalistic hayday that was Vietnam-era America, etc.

.
..'but sometimes colors bring different things to a photograph, i don't know. it's like.. b&w is to be used when an effect is desired, a mood, an emphasis on light, shadows, lines. color is used for other things, and for different moods. i don't think anyone should be more attracted to one or another. both have their charm and qualities.' ..
.. and you really are no (photo) student?

ya know i dont usually care all that much for the multiple photos, but here it is really nice. i enjoy how the three are very soothing to me.. the colors, yes, all green with the little red detail. and i like how the three red people are almost lined up and get continually smaller. also the foggey atmosphere makes the three fit quite well together.
