Thanks for the compliment! As for how I found the book... a little inaccessible, if for no other reason than the language choices... and I never got more than half way through because there's not a single public copy of the book in my whole city and I had to get it on loan from a college on the other side of the state, so I had to send it back when the semester ended. Anyway, I need to get my hands on another copy of it and give it a little more time and digestion before I'm comfortable making conclusions about it on the public record that is the internet. From what context and approach did you take on Epistemology of the Closet?

the whole thing. Well, as much as I could fit in 2 weeks and still remember having been there... I spent a week in the republic and a week in N. Ireland. Hopefully I'll get pictures up from that around x-mas - I've been a DA slacker this year...

Ah, Newry, I think I passed it on the train from Dublin to Belfast, but didn't stop there. My loss! I easily could have made a day trip out there because I rented a furnished apartment in Belfast for 5 days and it doesn't seem more than 50km to Newry, if I'm thinking or the right place. Maybe next time, right?

well, newry is about 40 mins outside of Belfast, so it most likley was that place.... theres not a whole lot in newry but it has some nice scenery!... if your ever passing by give me a shout!

No, not Alaska, lol. I live in Michigan, which really has the about same latitude as France, but we don't have ocean currents to keep things moderate. Where in France do you live? And do you have class this week? Did you miss class for the student strike? I don't get much international news here so I don't really know what's going on now.

I just wondered b/c I saw you were in Finland but your English is so fluent and refined that I wondered if it was your native tongue. Did you learn English in school, or do you also speak it at home?

I lived in England until the age of nine, so it was the environment that taught me english, while my parents taught me finnish. after moving to Finland I attended only international or english-speaking schools, but learning more and more finnish was inevitable. english is never spoken at my home, though all my family can speak it (no one quite as well as me, incidentally). I prefer finnish as a spoken tongue, but all form of written/read work I prefer to engage in in english.
