I've been improving some of my favorite paintings for my portfolio, so I'll be updating quite a few of them this month.

Wow! Excellent scene! It sure does suggest a story. 
There are infinite good things to say about it, but I feel like the trees in the background are the finishing touch. It shows that you planned the whole picture out and didn't skimp anywhere, and the characters live in a real world with a real deep dark forest!

Thank you! The trees are actually what I changed the most. They totally vanished in the old painting and I was not pleased.

Nice, Ginger! I'd be curious to see you push the contrast just a wee bit more.If you do this, consider bringing in a fun atmospheric light color to play against that pale primary light source.
Regardless, I still love this piece!

This is one of those situations where I need you to draw all over my picture to help me understand where in the composition I would best benefit from your sage advice.
So, another main reason I changed this picture was because the original was extremely unprintable. My pictures always print so dark a lot of the fun details get lost, and this one was the worst. I haven't tried printing it yet to see if my work paid off, but I hope adding some atmosphere to the background worked. The scene is supposed to take place at twilight. Does it read as twilight to you?

Thank you! And yes, he still has bad teeth, although they don't look that bad in this pic because it just didn't read well. So I just have subtle hints of slime dripping from his jaws.

WOW this is incredibly, amazingly, crazy beautiful. I love the twisted perspective, the dark yet mysterious colors and overall the tonal range of the piece. I love the detail of the bricks and the luminosity of the center of the piece. EXCELLENT

I'm not sure Goldfinch's teeth are nasty enough...

They used to be nastier, but it was hard to read them as teeth, and in illustrations, sometimes sacrifices must be made for the sake of visual communication. BUT, if you look close you'll see that I did at least color his teeth orange, and that there is slime oozing into his fur.
