Description "Dear God, Bottle!" Darlet exclaimed, filling me with such shame and confusion even as his own handsome features blossomed with a species of absurd compassion. "Who would have thought you had it in you? I tell you old boy, I've never been so riveted in my entire life; a sensation I am profoundly thankful to be quit of. We'll have none of that now! You'd best give us that pistol, there's a lad." Taking my shoulder in one hand, he pried the gun gently from my fingers. It cannot be imagined how overpowering was my sense of gratitude as Darlet, in that moment, lifted from me the burden of my indebtitude to society and transferred it upon his own square shoulders.

--------------
PLEASE fullview! The preview image is complete garbage, and I can't seem to do anything to make it better.

T.C. Darlet and Mr. Morris "Bottle" Huxley again, but this time *drumroll* in color! I was slightly less lazy than usual and shaded them, yay! They've still got no background, I'm still too impatient for that apparently. Love how Darlet turned out, not so much Bottle... his light angle was harder.

Thank you so much! ^_^ Raffles fans seem so rare, I'm always thrilled to find a new one! Thanks for having a look... I'm curious, how did you find me?

I did a search on "Raffles" once and there was almost nothing but architecture photography, it was really odd. X_x

*Is bothered*

I started it. Unless I'm a real slacker I should have it up soon.

It has an accompanying story. Damn Victorian mice and their irresistability!

Holy cow, Muffin ... shading! I agree that Raffles-mouse's shading is better. You probably could have fudged some ambient lighting with Bottles' pants or gone in with another level of shading in darker tones to get the light to come across more. But it's nice to see something more finished ... ^^! The shading on Raffles-mouse (except maybe his left leg) looks real good - natural.

You're completely right on Bottles' pants, it'd probably look much nicer if I fudged the lighting and did something more interesting with the shading there... by the time I got to his pants my attention span was shot completely, and I just wanted to finish this and post it. I never truely finish anything, apparently. XD And thanks!

I love seeing your work again.

I haven't seen you in the art department here at UWEC at all, are you still attending here?

Your self portrait sketch is *so* lovely. Great linework, and I love these pictures, too.

Thanks, Kim! I just heard recently that you came here after all. I haven't seen you either, you'd think we'd at least bump into each other once, right? I suppose it's probably because I'm only in one studio class this semester, the 3-D foundations course that's so ridiculously hard to get into... what are you taking? Get into any illustration stuff?

And thanks again, I think it's cool to get a compliment on a self-portrait from someone who's actually seen me in real life. XD You can decide whether it actually looks like me or not, eh? Hehe.

Glowbee In reply to frigga [2006-02-15 00:41:58 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, yeah.. I can attest that your self portrait is indeed, a recording of your self. Yes, I only have one studio class as well! That's why i never see you! I have watercolor 1 with Ned. The rest are all GDR's

I'm going to be throwing stuff in the Arts West and Nota shows, though. Will you be tossing anything in? It would be cool to see some of your work!

I entered a big charcol piece to the spring show last year, which was a huge pain in the ass to frame, and it didn't get in. I'm... not really feelin' it right now. Plus since my only class this semester is 3-D, which is admittedly not my best subject, and the stuff I do on my own time is like... this (lol)... I don't really have anything recent to put forward.

I love the colour. You still managed to keep a good Victorian feel to the pic, even with the gun.

I love the scene...

Thank you! ^___^ You really think so? I thought Raffles' pimp collar thing was a bit much, but after I inked I couldn't really do anything about it... I do love Bottle's rumpled trousers and rolled-up sleeves though, he looks just like a hard-on-his-luck writer should. The gun didn't come out nearly as terrible as I first thought it would, my rendering of it was really bad but the coloring saved it I think.

I honestly think I'm gonna do up some clothing tutorials for Vic. style clothing... and a couple for guns as well... keep yer eyes open

But as for yer pic... I just LOVE the composition and the colouring kicks the hell outta anything I could do

I have this Sears & Roebuck annual catalogue from 1887, it's godly for Victorian resources... I mean, it has wagons, guns, clothing, jewelry, everything. I LOVE it. Unfortunately it's sitting back at home, because I don't have room for it (and my one from the 20's) in my dorm room... *whimper*

You're awesome. XD Agh, the coloring... so hard... attention span... so short...

I'm particularly fond of the medicines and tonics section, myself. I think there's on where the primary advertised ingredient is mercury... plenty of em have narcotics. XD There's several pages devoted to jock straps that are particularly amusing, not to mention lady's undergarments and boys-wear...

frigga In reply to Lightnings-Hand [2006-02-14 07:36:38 +0000 UTC]

Ah, the yellower one (Bottle) is broke and about to be disgraced, and came to his old school friend (the fellow in the Playboy jacket, didn't I just throw everything I know about Victorian fashion out the window?) for help. Something Darlet said made him believe that he wouldn't get any sympathy after all, so he tried to storm out, Darlet prevented him, and dear, impetuous Bottle threatened to blow his brains out right there in Darlet's parlor.
Darlet is an awfully morbid little bastard though, so when Bottle whipped the gun up to his head, he just got this sick expression of fascination and expectance instead of anything normal like horror, which startled Bottle so much that he lost his nerve.

It's my "Great Mouse Detective" fandom version of the opening scene of "The Amateur Cracksman," a collection of stories about a gentleman thief named A.J. Raffles and his dumb and fawning accomplice, Harry "Bunny" Manders.

By the way, hi there person I do not know. XD I wanted to ask you if you have/are going to hop on the bandwagon and transfer servers or not. My boyfriend went and did it and THEN called me about it, so I switched over too. I'm not sure I like it on this new server... it's full of nothing but high-levels, there's no one for me to help... but the primary reason I play the damn game is to be able to talk to my boy on a regular basis, so meh.

Suramar has been pretty bad, lately...and to be honest, I've considered it. Where'd you two get off to? I'll join you, yeah. I'd hate to be all alone on that shambling rock of a Server. XD

frigga In reply to Lightnings-Hand [2006-02-14 22:58:45 +0000 UTC]

We took the offer to transfer to a brand new server, Rexxar. Transfers are open through Thursday. I transferred everyone, including Apandria. Now since the name is open again on Suramar, I'm going to make an alt there with the same name to be able to talk to people who are still there, at least until the realm transfer thing is over.

Hope I see you.

frigga In reply to Lightnings-Hand [2006-02-15 01:22:07 +0000 UTC]

I wonder if you're on... I'ma log in to Apandria the Second and see. X3 It's not that hard though, you just go to the "Account management" section of the WoW website, log in, and from there go to the " realm transfer" section. Once you get there it tells you what to do, pretty good instructions and it's real quick and painless. You made your own guild, didn't you? You have to disband or relinquish guidleader status to transfer, and not be logged in at the time, those specifics I remember.

I gots characters set up on Rexxar...sorta. I'm stuck between deciding on a class for Liu. On the other Side, why not say hello to Hyperbole the Troll Shaman?

frigga In reply to Lightnings-Hand [2006-02-21 02:22:13 +0000 UTC]

XD Oh that's sweet. I'll add Hyperbole. Watch for Thymion too, I mostly play marumbe but he's still around... I'm just not that into rogues. Though I think with my guild I'll be mostly alliance-side, cause this time I'm actually trying to make it work. (Yes, I made We Are Helping again. I want to create a Hordeside branch called "Here To Help." *cackle*)
