This is beautiful.
I suppose the forward most claw looks a bit odd but ...I could just be a retard.
To me, it looks a bit too meaty or something. I dunno. I still love this.. >< Such a cool concept. It deserves a DD.

Thank you! ^.^ It's not really DD quality, it isn't even done yet, but I'm really honored that you'd say that...
There is something off about the foreleg and claw, I think you're right there. I have to at least define the toes better, at present they kind of blend together

Oooo ... me likey. The dragon just looks so sweet and gentle, and I like the feel of the brush strokes. The left side of the field seems a little empty, though I'm not sure what I'd put there as to not distract from the dragon. Also, perhaps it is just the picture, but the dragon's head seems to be a bit darker than his body, especially the stretched wing. In a way, my eye's drawn up to the wing, and I have to force my eyes down to his head. Perhaps something to draw more attention to it?
^^ ... little sheepies in the bg ... *cuddles*

Thanks, Jen. ^_^ I agree about the left side, I just don't know what to put over there that won't obscure the sheepies or cause scale problems... gaaaah. Maybe Adam will have ideas, he's so picky I know he'll have something to fix about it. XD <3
I know what you mean about the head being dark. I fought with it the whole time I was painting, and it still pisses me off. What happened with that was, the dragon was originally looking outward towards the flock with his head raised, but that seemed way too impersonal and disconnected. I think I told you I based the dragon's pose on a photo of a Border Collie, and that's the way the dog was looking,b ut I like this a lot more. But since I had already begun to paint in the background, the area behind the dragon's new head was dark, whereas the canvas was nice and white behind the rest of his body. So none of that background whiteness gets into the head now, it's just dark. I couldn't seem to mix a red that would compensate for it. *siiiiiigh*

Wow, really positive response from everyone... *glee*
Thank you so much. ^^ Especially for the critique, I know I need it. I think you're right about the tree. The foliage was so frustrating, because I couldn't seem to mix a broader range of greens with my acrylics- I'm hoping that once I get some better supplies over break, I'll be able to go back in and do something about that. The sunlight effect is another problem I'm going to have to have another go at.
