This is the dress that will become part of my peacock-costume for the Elf Fantasy Fair 2009.The dress is made of panne de velours and as you see it has a delicate pattern in it that looks like feathers!
I used the pattern Vogue - V8190 for the design but added straps for safety
You don't want to stand in a crowd with your dress around your waist! Anyways, the peacock costume also contains a mask (see other deviation!) and a big big peacock-tail (yet to work on so stay tuned).
Hours put into this dress: roughly 10 or so. It's a lot of fabric to sew!

Thanks! I made a mask aswell (picture in my gallery), but since i'm hesitating i'm making another one!
And the big finale will be a huge peacocktail with loads of feathers

Well, not really. I bought the pattern for the dress, so i didn't really had to think it out.
The rest isn't that hard, basicly anyone who can handle his/her sewingmachine can make this

I tried to sew in past but nothing that complicated as your dress. I used burda patterns but I always have to change so much that it fits my figure, so have very few motivation to go on

Hehe, i use about every pattern. Vogue, Butterick, Burda.... Some are just easier than others.
The corset will be a challenge though! That's a whole different game than stretchy fabrics.
