Wow, this is still sooooo gorgeous to me. The light suits him so perfectly.

You know what I can see...? Vice. Vice and Axel having a smoke together (I really wish he'd quit, but no luck. At least he smiles now).
I love the bg, and, as I mentioned on lj, the shadows/lighting. Oh so pretty.
I agree that the smoke's a little iffy. The cloud, for example, doesn't look like it's coming from him. But whatchu gonna do, ne?

right? right? at that point I was like "you're lucky I'm letting you smoke at all jerk!" :crappy speech bubble looking thing: but at least one person thinks I pulled it off well enough, and the person I did it for was pleased, so...ja. I'm satisfied with that. I was contemplating making him look "more hippy" but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it would just make him look like a poser... like, oh I'm so hippy! look at my hip hippiness! don't you wish you were a hippy like me?

much thanks. the lighting was hyper complicated. I think next time I'll just cheat all the way and like...color it normally and throw an adjustment layer on top. I still had to do that with this one anyway

Interesting... I think it should have had more details, because they look rather "now". Maybe a few fresh flowers or a bandanna on his head or even the tiny yellow sunglasses... but, very nice.

thanks! lighting is something that I hope to work on a lot more with my stuff. I mean, it's like one of my favorite elements in art, yet I never work at getting better at it. I'm pleased to say that I think I've pulled it off fairly well here. I appreciate the comment.
