Description
This piece was done during my senior year at college, and was just brought out again for a local art show, the Littleton Art Show, an outdoor venue in the autumn. The piece was put in a contest of all the crafts and won first place and a cash prize! It now has 2 blue ribbons to its name, and I am sure it won't stop there! Etude in Dripping Jewels is a completely copper foiled window with an art nouveau border, and has about 1000 pieces in it. The darker pinks in the middle of the waterlily are made by plating glass on the back side of the window, and use a principle of combining glasses to produce new colors. Some of the pieces are plated to 3 layers thick.
Next weekend there is another show with awards, which this piece has already won, and so the window Ex Pomegranate ad Lucem will be up for the People's Choice Award.
