Description this is my best picture of my Ring of Four Winds. the onyx being north and the three other swirls being east south and west. it fits nicely on the finger holding to the curve.

New version here [Ring of Four Winds Perfected]

PLEASE MY WORK... I AM TIRED OF MY WORK BEING UNKNOWN. HELP ME MOVE TO THE EARLIER PAGES.

it also will not bend easily as it is made from full hard sterling silver (pain in the butt to work but makes durable stuff)

the twisted band was easy enough to make i just had a really old clamp that my grandfather had given me and a pencil and wrapped one end around the pencil and twisted it. the unwrapping was the hard part.

Tell me what you think of this ring

how much would you pay for it?

Sad News: my ring didnt get chosen for the art initiative *tear rolls down cheek* nor did my necklace or pendant

Of the two version the newer is indeed the better looking one, though even this one was good. The concept was already clear.

Funnily enough I prefer this picture to the one of the newer version. This is lovely.

Locally, I tend to pay about USD15 for my handmade sterling silver rings (I'm thinking of one I have with an onyx set into it for comparison; if you want I can try to take a picture of that ring for you to have a look) depending on the design.

However, this ring caught my eye immediately, despite not being very complicated. I might, personally, go up to about USD18 for it? Possibly.

fiety1 In reply to Romaji [2009-05-08 00:02:24 +0000 UTC]

thanks. and it depends on where you are. because i just run a jewelry business out of my dorm room soooo yeah. but i was thinking around $15-$20 for the piece.

You have such beautiful jewelry!! I really like how you've made this one. All the curves that make up the ring.

How much I would pay for it? Have no clue. Sorry. When people ask that of me(in real life), I usually don't have an answer.

um about an hour mainly because i was slightly distracted and the silver wire is full hard which is very difficult to work with.

oh.
very simple and pretty!
:]
i donno how much i would pay,
but when i price my things,
i add up what i spent on materials,
then add a "work fee" of $5-$10
an hour i work on the piece.
:]

fiety1 In reply to brandy-leigh [2009-04-22 03:23:59 +0000 UTC]

yeah i usually do $5 for labor. the wire is sterling silver. now do you tend to double your price for materials?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

brandy-leigh In reply to fiety1 [2009-04-23 00:02:14 +0000 UTC]

i dont,
but i am veryvery new
at the whole making a selling jewelry thing...

fiety1 In reply to brandy-leigh [2009-04-23 01:07:07 +0000 UTC]

well where i buy from is wholesale so i can double the price of my supplies and it wont be ridiculously expensive.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

brandy-leigh In reply to fiety1 [2009-04-23 21:34:49 +0000 UTC]

ahhhhhhh...
that makes sense!
i get my supplies at rio grande
so if i doubled them,
it would just get ridiculous.
haha.
