It's because the Hero's Shade in Twilight Princess is OOT Link and TP Link is his descendant.

that explains a little bit and it kinda would make since since TP is in the child timeline

And since TP Link is a Farmer, I guess that OOT Link married Malon.

Ferisae In reply to Rheshu [2013-01-14 06:10:44 +0000 UTC]
It is him, it is confirmed officially, but it is not known how he lost his eye so many fans assume he lost it in battle.

That brings a tear to my eye.
So did Link commit suicide, in your early comments you said ''he died of regret'' I think I saw that...
π: 0 β©: 1
Ferisae In reply to Rheshu [2013-01-14 18:02:51 +0000 UTC]
Not that we know of. By the sounds of it he regrets dying before passing on his teachings, so it sounds more like he died in battle or sickness and it was out of his control.

SonadowStories [2012-10-01 18:52:56 +0000 UTC]
when OOT ended there were three diffirent time lines. One of Link as a child. (which twilight princess follows) another one when Link was an adult. and a third one in whic adult Link has lost his battle against Ganondorf.
Nintendo confirms in "hyrule historia" that the guy who teaches you the hidden skills is the Link from the timeline that has lost against Ganondorf.

Ferisae In reply to SonadowStories [2012-10-01 19:26:39 +0000 UTC]
With all due respect, I know all of this already since I own the book itself. In the image description I even reference Hyrule Historia. I gotta correct you though, your last statement is wrong. Nintendo confirms in Hyrule Historia that the guy who teaches you all the hidden skills is the guy from OOt/MM (Hero of Time) who died "with a lot of regret" since his deeds as the hero were not remembered and he couldn't pass down his skills. It is even mentioned that TP Link is blood related to the Hero of Time. If the HOT had died TPLink wouldn't exist as the HOT had not had any children by the time he had his fight against Ganondorf.
The timeline where the hero "loses" to Ganondorf spouts the timeline with Link to the Past, OOA/OOS, LA, etc... Recheck it and you'll see c:

TPLink is related by blood to OOTLink, yes.

is OOT Link and SS Link related?
π: 0 β©: 1
Ferisae In reply to SonadowStories [2012-10-03 14:33:11 +0000 UTC]
They are too far apart by centuries to say. So for the time being, no, they arent. At leats Hyrule Historia doesnt mention anything.
π: 0 β©: 1
SonadowStories In reply to Ferisae [2012-10-03 15:03:49 +0000 UTC]
so TP Link and OOT Link aren't centuries apart? but that doesn't really make sense then. because in OOT tehre were kokiri's and in TP not.
π: 0 β©: 1
Ferisae In reply to SonadowStories [2012-10-03 18:11:55 +0000 UTC]
There are some years. They dont specify, but OOT is probably TP's great grandfather. In the book they also explain Gerudo disappeared because of a fight they had with the kingdom of hyrule over condemning Ganondorf, and that the kokiri faded away or somethig of the like. There's still skullkid so either kokiri died out or they all turned into skullkids as the years passed, or just hide themselves compltely etc. It's all up to interpretation.
Creatures/tribes can die out or disappear, it occurs in real life too.

SonadowStories In reply to Ferisae [2012-10-03 19:58:00 +0000 UTC]
i guess that could be. so TP Link is OOT Link's great grandson. that's interesting.

Elementianhero22 In reply to SonadowStories [2013-11-13 17:21:54 +0000 UTC]
I have this crazy theory that the Kokiri turned themselves into the monkeys that help TP in the Forest Temple. If you look real close, you can see that they all have a tattoo of the Kokiri's Emerald on their upper arms. That would explain why they stayed in the forest.
Dunno HOW they did it, but... it's a magical world. Magic pretty much throws logic out the window. XD

sekkechi In reply to Elementianhero22 [2014-02-15 08:07:44 +0000 UTC]
well in wind waker it's explained that the kokiri take whatever form the deku tree chooses for them. the deku tree in wind waker explains that at one time the koroks had looked human, aka the kokiri, but he changed their form basically. so the deku tree in TP (though we dunno where it actually is) could have simply chosen to give them the forms of monkeys to hide them and keep their true nature secret.Β
