Well when I realize I suck at something I try extra hard to stop sucking at it. It doesn't help straight away but it's not like avoiding things you're bad at will make you better. But I think your tree here looks like a good start.

True. It's a bad habit of mine to focus so much on getting one thing decent and neglecting practicing the rest. Having the drive to try and improve is indeed important.

It looks really cool. Nice composition, love the small details.
And I'm a sucker for gnarly old trees. ^^

I wish that as well. There's some forests around here, but they are not that old or spooky.

It all depends on what can resist a drought here. But I can dream...and watch Tim Burton films.

It's so good to see new art from you, and one with such detail and warmth at that! The leaf litter (love how you rendered this especially), rose thorns and decorated bare tree really are gorgeous framing, not to mention the clever fish-eye-esque perspective you've wrapped the scene in. The harvest goodies really remind me of scenes from Martha B. Rabbit which I grew up with. And once again your realistic-style rendering of faces is so distinctive and never fails to captivate. Lastly, I adore their outfits, and I really needn't mention the sepia. =]
