Thank you. I'm just working as a receptionist at the moment for a company.
Oh really and you think it's still not that fun? I was very disappointed with the games course. We had to write a few essays this year. Really don't think I'm going to do well..... A little nervous receiving marks back now. Hope its all pass.

Essays in Games? I thought it was going to be design documents all the way. How did other people feel about 3rd year? I kept worrying I'd made a mistake leaving, but it sounds like I could have been right.
Marks aren't until November, but I'm sure you'll pass. You kind of have to pass if you did the work, right? I'm not sure how I'll do for this semester since I didn't show up much. I didn't have high expectations of my course, so I didn't put much effort in, either. I guess that makes it RMIT's fault lol

Yea i know right.... I was like oh crap that's not a strong area of mine. I think a lot of people thought it was pretty bad. I don't really talk to a lot of people. The ones that were general idiots got even worse to be general retard idiots. I think Adam from my games group was "meh" about it. It could have been better.
Oh gosh I really don't know how harsh the markings are going to be for that essay class. I mean I got back one results from one essay I wrote which was suppose to be 500 words. I just passed that with one mark. It was a P grade.... Maybe you did the right thing So are you still going to be there a little longer? I wish to do masters but fiance (who graduated there last year) wants me to just find a job. Parents are saying same thing, just work work work. Not sure I feel a little envious of those doing Masters or Honours. And RMIT with there silly fees. Did you get that aswell the extra I think 256.00?

Looking at the course outline you guys had I couldn't see where it was going. The few people I ran into seemed ok with it, but that was back in first semester. I suppose the longer you're in a room with people, the worse they get. There was a bit of an ego problem developing, I recall.
With subjects you don't like/aren't for you, a pass is great. It means you've achieved something in spite of drawbacks. I still cannot imagine you guys having to write essays!
What would you plan to do with a Masters? The uni does have fucked up fees, but it could be worse. And the HECS people probably won't even get around to you if you don't pay. No way in hell am I paying for 2 years of nothing plus however many years more of it in another course.

Yes the course outline... it took us to no where. I'm gonna find it so hard to work in a design place... I still don't get how to use certain things. It's like I have to start all over again with Maya and things.
Just hope I passed. That's all that matters at this stage.
Masters will take me no where. No wonder you left.

I don't think we were ever going to be prepared for the industry in the course...and don't feel so bad about not understanding some of the tools - it seemed like the teachers weren't that sure either.
You know, when you pass you'll have a piece of paper. You can use it however you choose

Well tomorrow at 5:30 at the ACMI Federation Square we have the Games Show Case Are you going to be there?
And You know you are so right. what I'm finding hard is to find a job in the design area right now.... All because RMIT did not teach us certain programs that all these Design companies want. Such a waste of time....
And I Passed all subjects I'm very glad at that complishment. Hows you?

Damn I missed the show How was it?
Congratulations on your results! I passed this year as well...I'm just glad I won't have to repeat any of First Year.
You still have some cool skills from the course, but I totally agree you weren't given what you need in order to get work. I wonder if the other games courses in Australia are really any better, though. The RMIT courses had been around for a while and they weren't great even before the structure changed. But hey, you got a degree So good luck with the job hunting.
I've been offline and hectic for a week...my computer died, and I just got a replacement. Actually all technology hates me lately. My stereo broke, then my headphones, and then my piano headphones...clearly not my week for music lol.
What have you been up to?

Its okie it wasn't that big or that awesome to be honest. But some guy that does masters said that some people already got offers to go into game industry. But I don't believe it. From what I seen on Facebook I don't see anything jumping up and down with excitement. Think my leg was being pulled. Now many designers were there from the industry.
Thank you so much I'm so happy I passed, now I'm trying to start my own business with my fiance.I miss uni.
I don't think there's many game industries in Australia anyway. They are so tough to get into. I don't feel like doing app games for iPhone. I do has the degree but sadly I can't get into anything I want. Thanks for the luck I need it.
I have been offline a few too, cause I work, I do go on every now and then but been noticing u has been gone for a while and then back again. Lol what sort of computer do you have? Oh god every things breaking on you.
Me not much I work in retail at the moment at Big W. I'm trying to make as much money to save for a few things I want. I actually want to buy a new Laptop. Also trying to draw but I have been so slow. Fiance has been drawing like crazy too and his works are so much better than mine. :< Feel like my drawings in general has gone backwards. Sorta keeping me awake at nights. I can't draw no more

The Games department certainly did tell a few lies about the success rate. When they say offers, it's more like making apps in small indie groups. Which like you say, isn't all that appealing.
I go offline for few days at a time because of migraines. Bright lights make them worse, so I stay away until they clear up. I wish I had a better reason than that. My computer is a Dell. I hate it but I'm sure I'll be fine once I find a single positive attribute. I'm eBaying at the moment for a replacement stereo, so hopefully I'll get my world back in order soon!
I know how you feel about going backwards with art. I think you and your fiance just have different styles. He's really good at his, and you're defining your own (I think it has popular appeal, btw, a VERY good thing). I'm putting in an inquiry for a stall at Oz Comic-Con (I can't remember if you went...it was towards the shitty side), and I wonder if you and your fiance would want to share space? It's some way of moving forward. I am well aware I'm punching above my weight, but I have plans. And believe me, you guys would be at the top of the game. It's in July, so a long time/not a long time away really.

Yes they really did and even one of the lecturers pissed my mum off that night. Because she knows that they make a lot of lies up she embarrassed herself by mistake cause she didn't wanna talk to them and one in particular kept saying i'll find a place 100% rate!!! She almost said I don't want to talk to you.
Migraines are terrible. You still having fits? My friend has epilepsy and shes on that medication at this moment - tegratol or something. Oh speaking of Dells I'm looking into buying a new computer. Oddly its related to Dell company but its AlienWare. I want to know and try one out. I hear Dells are pretty crappy. I hope you find a better one. Look at Toshiba or maybe a mac book pro? They are very pricey :<. That's another reason why I want alien-ware, because they are some what less pricey but still sort of pricey. I'm going to be spending 3000.00 and so far i'm only half way. I'm sure it will be put back in place soon. How was your xmas? Also Merry belated Christmas I don't really celebrate Xmas but for my dad,my mum, brother and I go to my dads side of the family to celebrate. I really enjoy the desserts. Not so much of a fan on Turkey though or meats in particular. I am a bit fussy when it comes to food. Certain foods make me itch and get the worst rash ever. Right now as I'm growing older its getting worse. Now I can't have milk anymore or satay. So weird.
Aww thanks that means alot and I'd like to tell him your compliment about his works. He really needs more compliments. Thats another thing i noticed about RMIT. All they did there was bag his style out. I remember in the animation class with Conor, all he did was say how bad my fiance's works are because he did one thing wrong with his texturing.... :\ Its like the lectures are jealous that a younger person can produce such works.... Tsk Tsk adults.... I swear they are like big fat baby adults at RMIT... And really Oz Comic Con?? Oh wow Yes I think that idea would be great if you would be willing to! I'd love to share a space. Give me the details we should work it out. At the moment fiances in Malaysia but I'm here so that's enough right unless I save up from what I'm earning and drag him down here for an earlier trip to Aussie? We will keep talking as of about this Oz Comic Con. I never went by the way. We together should make ourselves famous. My mum the other day dazzled me to open a shop of art. Are you much of a canvas or mixed media painter or anything? We Could open a shop after some how. I really like antique sorta steam punk style as well, and you seem to pull it off well in your works. Unfortunately I can't. My art is too Childish and bright.
New year soon for us

Oh, my mother would have done the same thing. I'm not sure I see the point in lying to graduating students. Maybe it's because RMIT has had so much bad press in the past couple of years.
I haven't had a fit since going on meds mid-2010, but I still have to take care (no strobe lighting, no watching a certain episode of Pokemon lol). I think a friend of mine is on tegretol but she combines it with something else. Everyone's brain waves are different.
What are you buying the new computer for? A mac book pro would probably be best in general, but isn't alienware designed just for games?
Eek that sucks if your intolerances/allergies are getting worse. Have you seen your doctor about it? Maybe you should do an allergy test? I got sick at Christmas too because the cakes contain nutmeg and cinnamon but only list "spices" in the ingredients. Next year I'm sticking to the vegetables and nothing else. Christmas really is the worst time to be fussy...I always feel like I'm offending my mum.
Seriously, your fiance's cat/game crossover art is perfect for conventions. It works well as a gift and something for yourself. They're games with a huge audience...and they have cats. Win. Something I have learned from Manifest is that people will also buy anything pretty and sweet like your work. It's not manga style, so it's something a little different. Comiccon last year had a few lolita-themed shops that seemed to do ok, so that means there's a market for cuteness. I think a stall shared between the three of us could do quite well. I requested the information pack from the organisers, but got an automated reply, so I'll probably know more in the New Year.
Have you heard of a gallery called incub8r in Fitzroy? It might be suitable for your work. Unfortunately some of it is hipster crap, but some of it is cooky (in a good way) and actually what I'd call art. It's a good place for bright colours. Maybe check it out. I don't paint on canvas anymore, just digital art, so my work really isn't suited to shops or galleries. I'm working on my graphic novel though.
I think the tutors played favourites a lot, too. That doesn't create a healthy environment. I can't believe they didn't like your fiance's work, though! I remember in First Year certain tutors were definitely jealous of some of the students.

Well my mum should feel better and proud of what she did since you also agree. She said she felt bad at the same time as not feeling bad. But Oh gosh I also remember when I went up to my friend and he happen to be with the lecturer and when I came up to them Adam was like oh I just got in with your mum. I think he was trying to make a really bad joke about him being single and my mum is married. Then my friend was like Oh you dirty person. It was so awkward his face flushed red and eugh... Creep...
That's really good isn't it! My friends been good to right now. Her last fit would have been around 2009. What does Pokemon have in it that's so strobie and stuff. So do they measure the brain waves then assign the tablets?
Its meant for this game I play. Its a little MMO but i made a few characters on it. I want something that I can leave on to play it while they all level. I use this other computer its a HP and it can only open 2 of the game. I want to open 5. So I thought I'll try the Alienware out. When my mac dies I'll most likely use that for Photoshop and all too.
Its weird its like everyone's getting worse in their sickness's. I am going to be tested soon. Its going to suck . I offended my dads mum. She forced me to eat all her food. I really don't like her food. I like potatoes so I stuck to eating that and she was like "Oh NOOOO you have to have more than just that" and plonks all this beef which I can not handle the smell of. Smells too meaty. I almost chucked up there on the table.
Oh really they love that stuff? Won't they like penalty us for copyright sort of? Oh I'll keep that in mind for him Thanks! So its sort of easy to sell you think? Oh my goodness I need to try find a badge maker. I am glad you think its not manga. Makes me so happy!! We should do this!! The 3 of us will do some good What do you plan to sell? Your works are so Victorian and steam punk from what I have seen. Makes me think of vintage stuff which I love!
No I haven't and I have been looking for a few galleries. I do hand sewn work too and embroidery. I want to sell stuff or display stuff. I suppose my stuff might fit in with the hipster stuff if they are all colourful too. I love colours. I will do that today And that's great your working on a graphic novel. I sorta always wanted to do that. How do you plan to display it?
They did play favourites a lot. I know for sure Jen did. It was unfair. And even Darren. Remember that digital painting course. It was harsh and not fair. It hurts people who actually try.

Gah your phone seems to be in a constant state of revolt.
The lecturer might have solved that particlar technical issue of transfering the files, which should be w00t for me if I actually manage to get work done. It also means I could be able to do all my texturing at uni that way. It's somewhat amusing/fail that it's taken 2 years before I've had a lecturer that knows what to do. Oh RMIT.

I'm not at all happy with how Digital Painting went (good chance of a Fail), or my interactive media game (doubt I'll fail, but it won't be good), but I'm pretty sure Sound Design and Media Cultures will be fine and dandy. I'd better get good marks for Media Cultures - I injured my knee in the assignment and I'll apparently not be running again...compensation points plz
