Description
Little something before the second semester commences.This is Alice, Will's sister, and her pet dragon. Dryle the Dragon is the first entry in the Island's Registry of Exotic Pets, and may or may not have something to do with the demise of an unknown number of sheep during his growth spurt. Fortunately for Dryle, the sheep couldn't comment on this speculation.
Originally I drew a background for this - Alice's nursery - but sometimes less is more and all that. I also changed her dress colour a few times. It was supposed to be blue, but then I realised that only one blonde girl called Alice is allowed to wear blue -.-
Also I laff at my dragon anatomy. He's meant to be a bit dog-like but it went...odd.
Alice and Dryle belong to me.

Oh this is very good! The colour scheme's just lovely (I love green heh ^^) and the black stylised embroidery framing it works great. Her dress design is very pretty and I do like the dragon ... he's like a ... Daschund or something? One of those breeds with such stubby legs ... I dunno, my canine knowledge is rather terrible, I admit. But great job, and really cool storybook feel, it looks like a little poster I'd buy to hang in my bedroom wall, for real. =3

Thank-you! I felt Dryle being green was a cliche but the Island Tales are dominated by green for people and creatures and brown for the surroundings. Alice is wearing a colour called "mystery" - it shifts through a spectrum somewhere between olive and fern depending on the light, and is only worn by Magicians due to the colour's supernatural essence. Mortals who wear mystery find themselves dressed in an unremarkable grey (many a Mortal child has been upset by this). Viv in [link] is also wearing mystery.
The black styled embroidery I actually nicked from one of my uni assignments. I made an Arthur Rackham inspired game so my design document was adorned with knotwork and fairies.
Yes indeed Dryle is based on a Daschund. His stubby legs may account for his nasty attitude. It's also a sign that he ought to fly rather than tire himself out waddling everywhere. Sadly being the only dragon on the Island, he hasn't learnt to fly. Sucks to be him.
And you're welcome to the jpeg file if you'd like to print it. My friend (and patron) wants one too. I conclude that badly drawn dragons are my thing
