Issue 8, Page 15.I like this page. I took my time with it 'cause I wanted to add lots of buttery goodness. And DAMN have I had a good streak of unintentionally funny panels. I think this one is the best one yet! (I'm not pointing it out this time. Discover the magic for yourself!)

Lol... It just occurred to me after rereading this page with my boyfriend... shouldn't G.U.N. know who Shadow is!? I mean, they have the "you know what" so it goes to show they'd have records of Shadow with them from years ago...

You're right... at the point that I was writing this arc, I didn't have a super-clear idea of Shadow's GOTF-related backstory or his exact relationship to GUN so some hand-waving is in order here.

I think I see the joke. It's something in Shadow's dialogue when Sonic asks Shadow what goes on in the building.
"I'm only paid to guard the outside, not to ask questions."
I can see that being the joke depending on how Shadow says it. Either seriously or sarcastically. At least I assume that's the joke.

I'm intrigued by this comic, for several reasons. For one it looks like you're good at characterization. ^^ And then there's the obvious - but NOT bad - design changes. It's kind of cool to have your own "version" of a character I imagine. I adore everything about Sonic, you make him so unique and yet he still acts like himself, how we'd expect Sonic to act, at least from what I've seen. And Shadow is older, right? Which is why he looks different?
One question - I know I've got a lot of catching up to do so forgive my cluelessness - but what exactly is the purpose (if any) of Sonic's attire? The earrings, the neckwear, etc. Is it explained?

I'm glad you're enjoying the comic so far!
To answer your question, Sonic's bling is a visual indication of his connection to Chaos Energy-- Tikal gave him her necklace which cemented that connection, as as the team aquires more Emeralds and the connection becomes stronger, he gets more jewelry (I recently put up a picture of a genderbent version of GOTF Sonic, who is actually wearing ALL of the stuff he'll eventually have... though I doubt I'll make him wear all that 24/7). You can also see it sort of as the chains that keep him bound to the mortal plane, because they do that too (note the addition of literal chains on the necklace in his Werehog form).
But mostly they're there 'cause I think they're pretty.
