Description
Remove the shadow from the light, the shadow grows.Here is the fallen elder god Shinnok he is probably one of my favorite villains in MK. I consider Shinnok to be the most powerful character in the MK universe. I mean he was an Elder God. The character viewer in MKX definitely helped me with his look. I debated on adding Raiden to the amulet for a while I thought it looked nice once I got it right. The real challenge for me in this pic was Shinnok's head piece. Trying to get the shape and then keep that shape with texture light and shadows was a real challenge. It took a while to get that center jewel to look the way I wanted it to. I kept adding a little bit of a green glow but it clashed with the other colors so I left it alone. I know I'm jumping the MK timeline because I said I would do characters through the first 3 MK before others but its Shinnok and he is a bad MOFO.
Done in Photshop CS 5 with Wacom tablet

Shinnok's been on a roll since he was revealed to be messing with Raiden in 9 and while it seems like in X he's about as good for good as a Elder God can be I wouldn't count him out just yet.
Very striking picture here and all of Shin's traits like the bony hands, his amulet and his pasty completion are in great detail and the colors are vivid and fitting for the dark atmosphere of the Mortal Kombat games. He's come a long way from being a pale Shang Tsung, now he's doing evil deed befitting his role as the MK Satan while being unaware of being manipulated by the One Being, or does he know about that and has set up some dark plan? Perhaps someday the truth shall be known...

The vengeful Shinnok is also one of my favourite villains of all time. He's vicious and relentless, it can be seen in his eyes - he's possessed with the unholy desire to destroy the Light. It is a real challenge to be able to reflect such character and in my opinion you did it flawlessly!
I wonder how skillfully you created an image of diabolic god - those bones and sparkling amulet, the face of Raiden who will suffer for the Earth, pale skin and crimson eyes, predicting the doomsday.
I love your style, thank you for being MK fan for so long, your artworks inspire me so much. Waiting for new masterpieces from you.
