Thanks! i see wargamers have alot of fun with colors like this, so i thought it would be fun to try on a "realistic" 1/35 model. that yellow was such a pain in my ass to work with, but i am happy i did it.

thanks man, i had a blast, tho soooo many problems here or there. i made it through it and leaned a load and its defiantly not a T62 you see every day XD

Haha I really like the bright yellow color of this tank, so unussual (in an awesome way), I don't now why but the first thing that comes to my mind was Metal Slug
I hope it has some kind of stealth mode available when it goes to combat

enc86 In reply to TimeTravel7 [2015-02-08 15:00:05 +0000 UTC]
thanks! that color is something i hated but it grew and grew on me. just thought it would make this tank stand out against all the other t62 i have seen. hell yes, metal slug rocks! when i get better at scratch building, i am sure to make something related to that game.
lol yea we better hope, that color makes you a sitting duck.

enc86 In reply to Battleseal [2015-02-07 16:57:31 +0000 UTC]
my internal logic, was that these would be sold to pretty much anyone with the cash(thus crazy paint job) would be belong to no classes, a loner. but i could see a whole bandit factor being wicked cool, i would dread painting this yellow again.

It makes for a really great model - it's a good conversion and the balance of bright colours and 'dirty' effects makes it really stand out as something post-apocalyptic!Β I sometimes struggle to get that balance with my Warhammer orks and their looted gear, so it is nice to be able to take a few pointers from something done right!

enc86 In reply to HeavenhairSixes [2015-02-07 17:08:56 +0000 UTC]
thanks man, the conversion build was the fun part, the paint had me sweating. when i first painted it i was unsure, but went heavy with the weathering. the yellow just seems to make alot of it POP(opposed to military or proper colors)
alot of the stuff i do is not really that advanced, it just getting better at a set of skills while slowly adding to that list. the balance with weathering for me is something that has just taken time and is what makes those skills kinda come toghter. its kinda like your eye for where stuff should go or how things look gets better. some times even practicing on scrap piece(or paint up something as a tester, while building) can really let you play with different colors and weathering, till you know whats right for the model.

Well, the whole point of "military or proper camo" is to make things not pop. Even something like the British Army's "Berlin Brigade" Chieftains vanish in the urban terrain the black, white and brown square blocks (an early version of modern digicam I think) were designed for.

I kinda know what you mean.Β I have painted up mostly infantry and I'm confident with that at this stage, but I'm starting on a lot of carefully converted vehicles that I want to look really nice and gradually bringing in new techniques is a fascinating process.Β I have really enjoyed being on this site and looking what other people are doing - but you only really learn once you try, and then like you say you get an eye for when and where stuff will actually look good!

enc86 In reply to HeavenhairSixes [2015-02-08 15:19:41 +0000 UTC]
yea i get what you are saying and know what you mean. i look at different how to's and tutorials myself, but alot of the time i like messing with stuff till i got whats gonna work for me. i remember i tried to lean the "sponge chips" effects and for the longest time it didn't look right on my scrap bits but one day i started getting it, now all my models get a bit of that effect. slowly building up and applying skills is one of the reasons i love my miniature hobby.

I can imagine that miniatures overall are fun to photograph. Setting them in different scenes and capturing all the details in just the right angles with a white background.Β
Sounds like I'm going to have a fun time as well when I'll be concentrating on my photos more ^^
