This species is quite common in it's range, but in saying that, this species has a small range - it is endemic to the pine and cloud forests of one national park in the world: El Cusuco National Park in Honduras, Central America. As such, it is considered to be 'near threatened'. Chytrid fungus and habitat destruction are the major threats to the population's survival.

Photographed on a trip with the Honduras dept. of Operation Wallacea biodiversity monitoring and conservation group.
