Thanks! It was actually really easy - this species actually spend a good amount of their time sitting still like this! They mostly only move only for feeding, breeding or to find a better spot to suit their temperature needs (ie to cool down or warm up). So they're one of the easiest snakes to photograph when they've found a nice secure branch for themselves to curl around!

I've photographed this species several times but never this close or this clear.  Always in zoos and always through glass....big bummer!

Ah right, I've missed out some awesome shots too from trying to shoot through glass at zoos These are pets at a reptile petshop, so I just had to open their enclosure and was allowed get close with my macro lens (with someone keeping an eye to make sure their behaviour didn't change from relaxed to defensive).
