Description
During lab today, my biology professor got a glimpse of my notebook and the various doodles within it. One of them was a Mew, and he began talking about how it reminded him of a kangaroo rat, and then he started talking about kangaroo rats, which I thought was rather interesting, since I like kangaroo rats, but at the same time was kind of anxious to get back to doing the lab. *^.^*;;

Anyways. For some reason, that inspired me to draw this, a kangaroo rat in pseudo-anime style and in a Mew-like pose. Huzzah!

And I actually spent some time on the background because.. um.. I could. And it looked rather simple without it, and I actually developed an idea for it spontaneously. Yay. The coloring is desert-like, because kangaroo rats are desert animals!

So anyways. This is a banner-tailed kangaroo rat, Dipodomys spectabilis, which is the one in particular he was talking about. Yay.

Ya know, looking back on it, either I made the tail too short, or like, it's heading into the foreground. I think I'll go with the latter. Heh. *^.^*;;
