Cool, very nice detail work. The only thing is maybe you should extend the forward whisker to be longer, like it's counterpart, or to the edge of the page. You don't have to worry about cropping it to fit where you cut off the neck since the pendant is a clean division. Otherwise this pose seems off balance.
Again, great work on the detail with cross hatching. ^_^

No prob--since I'm taking art classes little things like this help me pick up and learn how to critique/improve art. ^_^

Awesomes! I'm also in art classes atm, but sometimes after working on an image for a certain amount of time you just can't see it any more... metaphorically of course...
that’s why critique from other people is so useful, they see things you don't

i agree. Same goes with writing. ^_^ Since i'm a planned creative writing major and a at least a minor, maybe double major in art, i feed on critiques. ^_^

Yeah--the only thing is, save for a handful of art, I'm wary about posting original material on the internet, even if it is Deviantart. That's why my gallery is mostly fanart or fanfiction. I do alot of original writing, and as much as I would love critiques here, I'm afraid of my material being lifted.
Critiques are good, they can help the author plot though character development issues, plotholes, and even spark new ideas, but one must remember it is always the author's story. Some critics forget that and ask that everything be re-written (sometimes it is warranted, but if it's not the story the author intended, that kind of advice is seldom helpful). Anyway, that's my opinion of the matter. ^_^

Oh, I can relate to that... I once made a comment that no one seemed to like what I was writing and the person I was talking to replied that it was maybe because I wrote porn. I had a very dude... wtf... moment after that...
As for having material lifted that really bites... >.> and it happens so much... copping might be the highest form of flattery but still those ideas were yours first and not anyone else’s
As for your opinion I would say you're dead on the mark, its great to get new ideas and view points into a piece, but if they completely warp the story you're trying to create it becomes a question of just who are you being loyal to, yourself or your fans? (if you have any)
