Love is not a word to toy with, I have to admit it really saddens me when people abuse it by saying they love someone when they dont. Not only are you lying to the person your also lying to yourself.
maybe try stopping yourself from saying it if you dont mean it. You really are doing more damage by lying.

I have a problem saying it when I don't mean it, too. Sometimes it's by accident (I always tell my friends I love them, so they know I care, so I've gotten used to saying it). And sometimes it's because THEY said it and I felt horrible not saying it back >.<; I've been trying to stop that, though. It can get you into some serious drama.

Oh, ST! Why?
Why would you do such a thing..?

This hurts the person. It hurst you when you turn around and think about it, when you really think about all the hurt and pain...

-sighs-

Ugh. I'm the opposite >_<

I told him I didn't like/love anyone and right there would've been a perfect opportunity to say something.

I never use the word unless I mean it or am trying to express great thanks or admiration to an individual I am interested in knowing why you would say it perhaps someone said it to you and you felt obligated to say it back?

If it happens again pretend like you didn't here them or say "I know" I do the "I know" a lot my wife needs constant reassurance that I love her but when I say I love her it means until further notice.

I have done that too, but I'm careful about it. To me...even in a relationship right now, I don't feel comfortable saying 'I love you' as often as she does, but I have to because she kind of expects it back, no matter how many times I ask to cut back saying because it DOES make me uncomfortable.

How come you said it, if you didn't mean it? Was it to a spouse? Is it someone you think you could learn to love, or start to love over time?

People spout off 'I love you' much too easily these days...personally, I can't say it unless I am absolutely certain I feel it.

I've done that too.

But they said it first, and probably only to get in my pants.

I have to agree with you on that.

Schreiberseele In reply to tessiursa [2009-04-28 10:08:29 +0000 UTC]

I agree...

Some person lied to me that way and I never get over it, because he was the first person I ever loved that way and now itΒ΄s just all a lie.

Even if those words just slip out, this lie is never a good.
Take it back you hurt feelings, donΒ΄t and you betray someone.
