I´m such a horrible procrastinator. It´s a hard thing to break and I´m starting to make progress. The trick is to reward yourself on the once-in-a-blue-moon chance that you do things early.

I know. I have to bust my backside to make up 3 years of highschool so I can graduate on time, and what am I doing?
Putting it off...

Story. of. my. life.
I now have 9 essays to write and submit for college in the next 2 weeks and here I am again, wasting time on dA. I have no motivation whatsoever to suceed. Even failing and dropping out of uni hasn't changed me at all and yet I just can't seem to get worried or stressed out enough about it to change . . . It's like I know that when I'm finally finished doing all of this work and have it handed in so that it's not hanging over my head anymore it will feel great - but that'll take time to reach that happiness - watching tv, listening to music, reading my book, browsing dA, going out with my friends etc will make me happy now and so I continually put it off till the absolute last minute. I'm afraid I have no good advice to offer you on this as I still suck at life! >.<

I'm procrastinating right now. In fact, I'm doubly procrastinating. I was going to do homework, but then I wanted to submit a secret, but then I wanted to look at all the secrets I hadn't looked at first, and here I am like, two hours later still having not finished my homework or submitted or secret, or even finished looking at the secrets I wanted to look at. I even intended to make dinner half an hour ago and didn't do that yet. I even procrastinate my procrastination.

I used to be the same way. I find making reminders, to do lists, and the like helps. If worst comes to worst, ask friend(s)/family to help. You can break the habit, I know you can!

Fudging said it very well. You really need someone to tell you to do something in order to do it. I NEVER did homework back in my highschool days solely for this reason. Instead I wasted time on DA and RPs (still do) and got nothing done. I did things for the teachers that scared me shitless when I never turned in things and failed their class. ONLY THEN did they slap that ruler repeatedly on my head in demands to get the homework out of me. I even got sent to the principal once.

I learned my lesson and did my homework ontime ever since. Do your homework or else you will face the ultimate embarrassment and conciquences like I did.

I don't know how bad you are at procrastinating, ST but I know I've got it pretty bad.
If you have trouble cleaning your room, like someone said earlier start in small incriments and work your way. Take breaks and have someone remind you to continue, otherwise you won't go back to it. Or listen to music and clean. That always kept me going.

A few have mentioned keeping a list. If you have a planner write in it, homework assignments, projects, errands you name it has to go on there.(When I kept a list it helped quite a lot) Keep a planner, get a planer don't write on bits of paper because it will get lost. Espeically in School.

I'm sorry if this was too long for you, ST and other readers. Just trying to help out my fellow procrastinators who also gave some great advice of which I probably repeated.

I am exactly the same -.-
I'm procrastinating right now on work that should have been done a long time ago but, (you guessed it!) I was procrastinating >.>

A thing I tend to is too is flat-out forget stuff. Maybe make a checklist with everything you need to do, and keep it somewhere handy. Include things like deadlines+materials, and then you can decide how you want to prioritize. Just a suggestion...

Maybe I should take my own advice...>.>

Pretty much all of my friends are procrastinators, and dreamers aswell. Which is really annoying because I'm a do-er and if I have a dream I make it come true. It's only annoying because a lot of my "dreams" involve my friends and they won't try like I will...I'm gonna have to leave them behind in order to be who I want to be ._.; I'm sure I'll make new ones, but eh, I love these ones.

Start small. Tell yourself some little things like "I'm going to make a cup of tea soon."Or even better at a specific time of the day, and do it exactly then. Then you can build up to bigger things like "I;m going to start this assignment at 12:00 noon." And keep going until you're happy Good luck man.

I procrastinate too.

Work up from the small things. Tell someone else to nag you to do something small like tidy up your room or sort out your wardrobe, etc. And to point out the positives of doing such a thing.

I've found that, whenever I do something like that, the accomplishment I feel afterwards drives me to do something else that's productive, like work, maybe meet up with a friend, etc.

Good luck. I hope you can beat it sometime.
