Oh I know this feeling. That's me and my boyfriend sort of. He's had a hard life. I've had a normal life. He feels like I'm too good for him and like he doesn't deserve me. I feel guilty and like I don't help him enough.

i have the same problem
but sometimes i just feel like a horrible friend to her because other people take me away from her. so the only chance i get to talk to her is on the phone now and days.

You sound like an amazing friend. Just the fact that you care enough to want to find your friend someone who can understand her better, it means that you'd do anything for her, as long as she will be helped. You don't realize it, but she knows that she's lucky to have you around <3

all that matters in a friendship is love and trust. if you love her and you listen to her and you keep the things she says to you to yourself, you're set.

Don't feel bad because you don't have it as hard as her, she wouldn't want you to and she definitely would not wish a life like hers on you.
Besides, if people with crappy lives only associated with other similar people, they would always be depressed and stewing. And if 'normal' people only hung out with other 'normal' people, they wouldn't know the depth to which other people have problems. It's a give and take and it evens out.

Uwww! My best friend is JUST like this, and it reallly makes me sad! She feels like she can't come to me with her problems because she feels like since my home sucks, she has no right to complain! Its awful! She'll beat herself up if she complains only slightly and I do wish she wouldn't. Take it from me ST: Don't worry about this! You have a great friendship and you're allowed to talk to her about anything!

Take it from me;; Just being there is enough. I come from a really bad home situation. My parents would argue non-stop and my brother had anger issues, and on multiple occasions would choke me. I would call my best friend crying. She would say nothing, just let me cry. And then we'd get together and she's hug me. That was always more than enough.

Maybe she doesn't need you to understand, it's enough that you listen and try to understand. Besides, someone who hasn't been what she's been through may be able to offer more support (even without knowing it) because they haven't had to deal with teh same things.
