I will admit that I really like Homestuck, and I'm guilty of associating the Zodiac signs to it, but I will NEVER think that Homestuck created the Zodiac signs! That's simply ridiculous...

Although I quite enjoy the comic itself, homestuck's fans are quite annoying sometimes. Something I've seen happening is that people think that calling someone a "troll" (referring to an internet troll) means calling them a HOMESTUCK troll.
example:
Are you a troll?
No, silly! I'm a human!
I also fear that the symbols will take a new meaning. I try to keep my homestuck life away from my real life as much as I can, only allowing my art to slip through. I hope other homestuckians will do this, too, in the future.

it really bothers me when they use the same typing style as some of the trolls. i mean, i know they are fans. i know they like that specific troll. but it *rreeaallyy* makes them look like the bad kind of fan. i also enjoy homestuck, and Sollux is my favourite, but ii dont con2tantly type liike hiim. it gives me a headache when people deliberately do that.

I wouldn't exactly say that it's terrifying. It's more terrifying to think that there are still people who put excessive stock in a list of vague predictions and complimentary traits that could apply to basically anyone and think that they have real meaning.
If they are somehow unable to figure out otherwise, I think that's more of a question of their intelligence, and Homestuck is just the wallpaper on their problems. Change it, and they still can't just look stuff up for some reason?

I am genuinely shocked that people think that about the seven sins... I think, for the most part, it would only be people who hadn't heard about them in the first place. And while I can see that happening with the seven sins, religion and all, I can't quite imagine no one having heard of the zodiac signs.

Okay, I somehow have enough faith left in the universe to think that MOST people won't think that Zodiac comes from Homestuck OR that the seven deadly sins come from FMA. They're so ingrained in pop culture and religion anyways, it's pretty unlikely they won't have come across it by the time they dabble in the series.

Well, I'd say since the age range in the fandom is so large, the older homestucks will correct the youngins.

I've tried so hard to get into Homestuck, but it's soooo boooring to me ;-; Unfortunately, ST, I'm fairly sure that a few less-than-bright individuals already do think so. I understand that it's only natural to get a little crazy with your fandom sometimes, and it can be a good thing (to be honest my interest in modern history was piqued by Hetalia, but I have since grown well past that), but there will always be a few people who don't know when to quit.

....Well, those things have been around a LOT longer than Homestuck, and they have a much wider and larger knowledge-base than Homestuck, and they have broad uses. I'm sure it won't happen. No one today thinks that the planets were named after Sailor Moon characters (at least... I pray not! o.o)

Homestuck has only been around for so many years. The Zodiac has been for a very long time. They'd have to be EXTREMELY thick to think such a thing. :T
I'm a fan of Homestuck, and I've always known that they were made after the zodiac symbols, not the other way around. Same with FMA, when I watched it for the first time.

This is pretty much why I dislike popular things. I've heard so many people who are fans of GLEE complain about "remixes" of the songs that are on the show when they're talking about the original artist's recording. It's fine when the creators choose to heavily implement a theme, but when the lesser-brained half of the population believes that's how it came to be then it bothers me. Shows how uneducated people can be.
