Description
First paleoart of the year.Starting from the incredible art of mister Ellison i.imgur.com/Kmhvagx.jpg as base for my own restoration I decided to make a version of his masterpiece with updated data.
I worked for the entire 2015 since March to the last days of December.
I really like the aerodynamic configuration suggested fron Emily Willoughby ewilloughby.deviantart.com/art⦠so I decided to use it as reference, as you can see her art is took as silhouette to show the correct pose from the side.
My microraptor is in a full dorsal view so lot of things are speculated 'cause the fossil record have no info about that position.
For this reason Mr. Martiniuk and Mr. Scott Hartman gave me usefull tips to create a plausible result.

Currently is a hypothesis. There's a debate about the shape of the shoulder, the fossil record is constantly reinterpreted.

It would be an amazing discovery to actually prove the microraptor had the capability of primitive flight; that will show the microraptors like crows of their habitat

Very lovely! I think Micoraptpor is one of the few dinosaurs we know almost for certain what it looked like. We even have its coloring!

Francesco, credo che questa sia una delle migliori tavole che si possano trovare non solo su Microraptor, ma su un dinosauro in generale. Hai fatto davvero un lavoro stupendo.
Se tu decidessi di ritrarre l'animale in altre posizioni e produrre qualcosa di anche solo vagamente simile al diagramma che Davide Bonadonna ha fatto per Diplodocus alcuni anni fa, sarebbe una roba da premio LanzendorfΒ
