I'd say if you were trying to get the frosted look, you might have done better by spraying it with a water bottle on the mist setting. I've never tried this myself, but I've heard that it's best to start with a warm can and use a mixture of water and glycerine; that way you can get the droplets to the exact size and density you want, and they won't disappear by evaporation too quickly.

Not sure I can find glycerine easily here though, since there's regulations on it and what not, being combustible liquid (couldn't find it at stores, and the bottle I ordered from eBay never reached me, it got quarantined by customs). I just rubbed wax on it, and sprayed water on it (though, I guess it almost dried up by the time I got the lighting the way I want it, I should've noticed it). Any idea for an alternative to glycerine would be appreciated.

The only other thing I could think of off-hand would be gelatin powder, like you'd use in making jams and jellies. Or look for some hair gel that's water-soluble and doesn't have too much colour in it. FallisPhoto might know of a few other alternatives as well.

I can think of several, like mineral oil, but they are flammable liquids too. Glycerine has medicinal uses, so he might try a drug store. Not too sure about the gelatin powder. The problem is that it would probably dry up quicker than plain water and when it started to do that, you'd get droplets looking like clear raisins.
