Simplistic and brilliant.
I love how the hair/outlines are a bit like spider's webs. That and the colour scheme. Makes me think of mathematics for some strange reason

:> Thank you. I think this picture means a lot more to me that it usually would, because it's a picture drawn for a prose passage I'd written. Usually they come together, but with this, the text came first.
Yeahh I can see how it might make you think of mathematics; the connections form a sort of grid which could easily look like fractals, or just polygons in general. It's an interesting comparison actually - the prose was written around the theme of music, which, in my opinion, is a subject as far from mathematics as you could get. However I also think that there are a lot of similarities, like keeping in time, rhythms, repetition and patterns.

You're welcome. You know, that's interesting what you say about maths and music – I remember reading that in a book once, that they're two totally different subjects, and then thinking no – actually music is very mathematical. It's just applied maths, I guess. I think I find maths difficult to grasp because it's so abstract, but if it relies on something or is turned to a purpose it's easier.
And oooh, at what stage is this music-related piece? Is it going up on dA when you're done?

Hahaaa maths is actually my best subject, by far. Which I think is a little odd, because when I think of myself I don't really think of a maths person, I'm just a person who can do whatever they want with some degree of success depending on the effort.
I think that in a way, everything is applied maths, and literature, and science, and music. Everything is everything, if that makes sense.

HAHAA it's a massive notepad file of wordpuke right now, and parts of it are littering the memo application in my phone too. I don't really know whether I want to upload it, it's somewhat personal and I tend to get paranoid that people might know what I'm thinking. It's crazy, but I always worry that if I write something which is close to what is going on in my head something massively terrible will happen. I think I just really like keeping personal thoughts to myself; although I do like to put the most profoundly important and anonymous thoughts into ACs and such (because then they're anonymous, and generally unrelated to me). I find that whatever I write is far clearer than what I draw, so I tend to prefer drawing when I express personal thoughts, and I put something relevant into the ACs. It's a bit silly, sorry. :/

Oh, of course. I think it's just that numbers seem to have no purpose in themselves, if you get what I mean? Say if you're studying geography, knowing where, say, France is has an immediate relevance if you want to go there one day. But everything in maths sort of ties into something else. Although I suppose it's very useful for money and taxes.
I didn't mean to push it – don't upload it if you don't want to! I was just interested. I know what you mean about personal writing – I find people who can write about their own lives incredibly courageous. I think that a little bit of yourself goes into everything you write/draw though.
No need to apologise!

Ohhh I see what you mean. I'd never actually thought of numbers that way, but you're right!

Oh Sol there are excerpts in my recent pictures, if you're interested. I think I'll leave the actual prose piece for a while, maybe I'll come back to it one day and make it nice to read, hahaaa.
Yes, I think people who write honestly about their lives are courageous, but often it makes me feel as if they just want attention >__> like those cheap celebrity autobiographies you get, I feel a little ill when I see some of them, ahaa.

Hi horrendously late reply for you. Enjoy. You might be seeing a few of these. ;D
I have been seeing some of those, they're great!
And yeah, I know what you mean – when I first started reading non-fiction that was very personal, like about a traumatic experience, on dA, I found myself wondering why people do it – but I've come to realise that sharing can be a really good thing, it can help spread a message and help the writer to talk about it in a sense. I think there's a different between that and the autobiography side of it which, yeah, is pretty annoying. It makes me cringe when people self-publicise endlessly.

LMAO SOL. HAHAA :'D I don't mind, it's all good

Aww, thank you so much!! I especially like the one I wrote for [link] (so if you feel like leaving a long comment in one place in particular, y'know *hint hint*) LOL. I'M JOKING. Don't feel pressurised, mate - that's for those of us who are in normal, exam-based, silly, mainstream education. LIVE FREE. I think I need more sleep...
But yeah, I've enjoyed putting captions on my pictures - it adds something to them, if only for myself.

Ohhh, I see what you mean. I guess I'm fine with open counselling stuff like that, where people share experiences and help each other together (I never really considered my opinion on that before, actually. hmm) - but I totally agree with you, the self-publicising ones are SO ANNOYING and no one should buy their books and DVDs because they don't deserve our hard-earned money!

Oooh yes I have seen that one, just haven't got round to commenting yet. I shall keep that in mind!

Hahah, I think pressure finds you no matter what you do. I'm not without obligations! But living free=totally. You too.

mm yeah. I think there's a point when it crosses the line between "interesting and helpful" and "annoying and commercial"
