So I was browsing through past cartoons that had aired on a few channels and came across Pelswick. although the name didn't ring a bell, when I saw a picture it all came back! I used to watch the show a lot and looking back it was actually pretty good and I wish it were on DVD or something.Then I felt like drawing him. AND I DID. I'm always really drawn to cartoon characters with undefined chins.
I also saw a really awesome rule 34 pic of him but that's not appropriate for here.
not so sure about the hatching but you gotta make mistakes to get good. This is in a mock 'Crumb' hatching style.

Oh, and, I have a new favorite character now - I'm not sure if he would count as a cartoon crush, but he's awesome! He's from a show called Robotomy.

YEAH! I watched Robotomy over the weekend, I think it's great! I've only seen two episodes so far, but I really like the tall, lanky main character and the skull-like ..principal..?

My favorite character is Weenus - he's the short, green robot. I love the fact that he's very nice, but he has bi-polar disorder, and he's placed in Special Ed (or, rather, The Sunshine Group) classes because of it. It's kind of like the story of my life - minus the bi-polar part.

Ah yeah! the one that has the scary demonic voice sometimes. I like him a lot, too! And that whole "sunshine" episode.. when I started watching that, I was first like, "wait – they can get away with that?" ..at highschool, the special ed. hallway was called the "sunshine hallway" – it later made more sense when they were actually headed to the sun.

Well, you have to remember that Robotomy is rated TV-PG. They can get away with alot more things, if they want to.

I don't really feel any of those shows are a copy of doug – they just focus on the same subject; teenage/middle-school life. Of course there will be similarities.. but it's not like "doug" was an original idea, everyone's a kid at some point!

Oh yes that's quite right, I mean I guess it was just another animated teen show. Back then I was like "This is kinda like doug's equivalent or something?" cause idk, disney channel vs. nickelodeon or something like that hehe. But yeah.
